From what I've watched so far I'd say Ronnie, Judd, and Kyren are the front runners. Some might throw in Allen or Higgins but they haven't really shown me much. I'd rather take Murphy or Maguire over them.
I'm rooting for Ronnie to make history, but John Higgins is due for a big win. He seems to rise to the top quite often and just can't finish it with a win.agree. trump probably best form. but re higgins and allen, they are known to be able to weather bad days and get stronger. maguire and murphy are the opposite of that - on/off players
I woke up and tuned in at the 2-2 score. The long shot with object ball so near the side rail was incredible. Going into such a small pocket at high speed didn't seem possible. Pretty amazing that Ronnie would take it on. Even more amazing that he made it.There were two shots Ronnie fired in at 2-2 that I didn't think would be possible on these tables.
The two matches going now are providing lots of missed shots. Lisowski vs Bingham and Allen vs Higgins are playing out as dog fights. All 4 are unsettled so far nearing mid session.
Letting their strokes out sends a message to the opponent and keeps themselves sharpThe shots that Ronnie and Trump pocket and the position they are able to execute is phenomenal. I remember a Rocket match where he was on fire and from the balk cushion fired a ball that was resting just past the side a 1/4" of the rail into the end corner pocket. Even he was amazed.
After the frame is won both Trump and Ronnie sometimes play some amazing shots. Trumps power is unbelievable.

Day had so many opportunities and couldn't capitalize with all the missed shots.Ronnie's putting it on display.![]()

In theory the schedule of matches -- I wanted to know when O'Sullivan-Day would resume -- is on the World Snooker Tour site, wst.tv.
Nope. It just says "To Be Continued". I had to do a google search to find out that they resume at 1PM Monday, UK time. Someone is not paying attention there. From The Independent:
