Just push the ball in and move the cue ball to where it totally should have finished.

Can we get the ghost rules amended?

This sounds like the golf ball in a divot on the fairway argument.

Ghost challenge with mulligans? Free drops? Ground under repair? Lol

I can usually play around the areas as best I can, but sometimes I have to let the cue ball go.

Couple more sets today:

5-7
7-4

I recorded them today, hoping to catch another good set. No luck. I wish I was recording yesterday. I don’t get too many 7-1 wins. I noticed I was considerably more irritated with the way the sets were going with the camera on today. I played faster and had a harder time letting go of mistakes. The scores seemed about the same though. 🤷

One quick 9-ball set today:

7-5 win.

I think I’m going to start writing all of my results down and just post once a week so I don’t spam the thread. I didn’t really think about that when I started doing this. I’m playing a lot more ghost sets than I usually do, and posting all results after each session is just cluttering the thread, imo. It’ll make it easier for you to do whatever you’re going to do with the data also, Nick. You won’t have to sort through a whole bunch of posts to find it, lol.

Would one (or several) of you guys about 650 or higher be willing to post all of your regular 9 ball ghost scores for a period of time, on a 9’? Even if the ghost blanked you? I want to see if we can figure out the ghost’s FargoRate with actual data instead of guessing. But we’d need the bad scores along with the good ones.

I did this for myself last year for the entire year. The ghost is miles ahead of 572! Ha ha.

Edit: if you have an incomplete set, please post the incomplete score. It will still work out.
This is a cool idea. I’d be down to participate (only have a preliminary Fargo of 650, I estimate I play a tad stronger maybe like 675 based on who I gamble with regularly) but I do have a question about variables. I play the ghost at my local pool hall: different and old ball sets each time (sometimes dirty, sometimes clean, different size balls), different tables (all 9ft pro cut diamonds but varying cloth conditions), wooden rack, etc. and because of all this I often have serious issues with the integrity of the rack. I often play a set where I make only a couple balls in total on the break over 10+ games. At the risk of embarrassing myself, I feel like my results are going to be significantly different than if I played on the same table each with a template, clean balls, etc etc. What are your thoughts on this in regards to collecting data?

Just collect sets on one post per week. Maybe just your recorded sets to leaderboards. Then add all scores to big number.
Something like :
Me 75-57 Ghost

I’ve been collecting all my attempts also. I’m just gonna post them at the end of the month.

Good idea! I guess the individual sets don’t matter for this. Just the overall numbers. I think I like the once a month idea even more than once a week. I’ll do that.

I’ve played some sets against the ghost recently. I’ll try to get in a couple more and add the scores up and post the results soon. I haven’t really been putting in much time lately so I’m definitely not at my best right now but everybody goes through those stages where they just don’t want to practice.

Played normal ghost today morning after night shift.
I have 9-ball tournament coming up in Valentines Day - weekend.
So gave 9-ball some love.
I get video to youtube later :)

It’s the end of the month so I thought I would post my ghost scores. I don’t have any excuses I have just been stinking it up. My break has been working good and I’ve been getting lots of good layouts. I have just been missing a lot of relatively routine outs. A couple days this week I actually got to play against my regular practice partner and I played good 2 out of the three days. Today against the ghost however I barely managed to pull out the set. Here is my scores for the month.
7-3
7-6
4-7
7-4
5-7
9-8

Total score
Me - 39
Ghost - 35

Here are my January numbers:

124-132 (me-ghost)

This is all my January sets combined, including my previously posted sets and videos. From now on, I’ll post my numbers this way, and hopefully catch a few good sets on video along the way this year.

Ghost edged me out, but it was closer than I thought it would be. I’m not disappointed.

I don't think it matters too much. Its just in fun anyway:)

Yeah, I think set a start and stop date for yourself, then just forget about it afterwards. Otherwise it might go on forever and stress you out, ha ha. Or, a set number of sets, like 10, etc.

Good shooting all! First post updated.

I'll set up a google spreadsheet for the ghost fargo calculation and post it here soon.

Also if anyone's fargo rating or robustness changes, you can list it with any new scores and I'll update it. (or not, and it will stay whatever you last wrote it as). Listing fargo is of course completely optional!
