24h before I get my Revo!!

Is it me or do the haters go out of their way to spread negativity every time a LD cue/shaft thread starts? It must suck living life full hate and negativity. Is it possible that some prefer the hit of a LD shaft vs a maple shaft? Not everyone that buys one expects to turn into a pro, just like not every time someone buys a custom expects to see a 5 ball jump and hit the road. I never see advocates of LD shafts/cues going around bashing non LD players or custom cues. What are all of you haters afraid of that you constantly have to go on the offensive?

Kind of reminds me of this satire about vegans always preaching to non-vegans. Lol

I've been on a hell of a lot of forums in my life, both for pleasure and for work, and BY FAR, this forum has the most haters/trollers. It's pretty damn hard to have a real discussion and argument without having the thread hijacked with personnal attack!

I just plain ignore them!

Geez!
My wife stayed home all day long to receive my package and the 25 min she has to leave, they tried delivery and since a signature was required, they're holding the package! I have to wait until tomorrow!

Lol

Yes, they go out of their way. THey sit at home with their custom cue and become visibly upset when LD's are discussed. It's funny, cause when folks talk about the top cue makers, it doesn't bother me one bit.... of course, I'm thinking, man, that custom cue looks GREAT, and I bet it will hit great once I throw my LD shaft on it ;)

LD Shaft Hater's

I only have issues with shafts that don't hold together or warp or cant be fixed or sound broken .

I don't care to tell any customer that there shaft has to be sent in or there screwed and the shaft is junk.

I am not bias, just don't care for equipment that sounds or feels funny or not natural .
I don't care for equipment that doesn't hold up under normal use.
And I really dislike shipping my cues anywhere ....

Any shaft that falls in any of the things I listed above , then I don't have to use one .
I have seen allot of issues with Laminated LD shafts, more then any custom made shaft ..

I don't know what the Revo shaft is selling for, but I do know what my cost is if I decide to make a shaft for myself or a customer ..owning a lathe that will make a shaft cuts downs on the price of a shaft allot .

Congratulations on getting the new Revo shaft I hope you like it, and I hope there are no unseen issues .

I'm an OB shaft guy myself, but if Predator was a "bad" product, no amount of advertising would keep it in business, let alone sell the most LD shafts and cues on the planet. And yes, there are plenty of custom cue makes shafts that warp, but not many that give a warranty for warping.

And to be fair Mike, the cost is not based on how much "you" can make a shaft for, but the R&D involved, advertising, dealer mark-up, etc., just like most non pool related products on the markets through out the world.

I'm not a big "chinese" product guy by default, but my friends love Predator, and i've yet to hear a complaint... my one buddy won back to back state titles with his, so not really sure I can tell him to switch... but I did finally get Daniel on the OB band wagon ;)

I was extremely skeptical about the Revo shaft. A buddy picked one up and I hit with it for about 5 minutes. I currently use pre cat 314's and I gotta tell you.... I LOVE the hit of this shaft and cue. I will be buying one soon.

$1300 for a shaft? Some people have way too much money. Johnnyt

That was quoted as the price of the cue, not shaft alone. Predator is not yet selling the shafts alone, and has not announced a price for when they do.

When they do, people will buy it if they like it and can afford it. Will they cost less than a Searing shaft? Should one pay more for elf magic or science? Surely it depends on the customer.

Not sure but I think the $1350 is for the butt too and the whole " kit ". But yes I agree with you, even for " all Dat " still seems kinda rediculi to me as well.

ha

I like that elf magic or science. Personally I think a person can play very good with either one maple or LD it all depends on how much time you practice with one.
If you put the time in with ether one you will play good with it, even if the shaft is all black.
That didn't sound good LOL.

God forbid they just make a new shaft instead of the butt and shaft. Johnnyt

When it comes to marketing, the people behind the Predator brand are geniuses. They realize that a lot of people have too much money (as you say), or even just enough money (as others would say) and are desperate to be the first to own the newest gadgets. They're called the "early adopters". Why charge them 600 for a shaft, when you can charge them 1400 for cue? Maybe they'll put this shaft into production later as a stand-alone shaft, but not until they've sold all the limited edition cues.

Anyhow, I saw my first Revo cue the other day (black P3). I didn't like the look of it, but several people liked it. There was a long line of people wanting to try it, and the consensus was that it was good. Getting poolplayers to agree on anything is almost impossible, so maybe there is something to this shaft, after all. I didn't want to contribute to the nagging and pestering of the owner to try the shaft, so sadly I can't report on how it felt.

I am all about laminated LD shafts.
Using up all that scrap plywood is good for the environment.

And we're all about custom cues, not having the cue made even though u already paid is good for the environment and the economy

The Revo shaft comes on different cues. I believe, eventually, they will sell the shaft by itself but for now just with a cue. I've heard the shafts are both more expensive to make and takes longer to produce so they're rolling them out slowly.
