$30 Chalk Can Last a lot longer

A few weeks ago I stated on one of the chalk threads that I use the $30 chalk as a base for my Master's chalk. I put a base coat on before I start to play and then only use the Masters before every shot. The base holds the Masters to the tip a lot better. I believe if you took a slow-mo of the tip hitting the CB you wouldn't see half as much chalk flying off as w/o the $30 chalk base. Also to me the combo of chalks has a nice hit/feel to it. Johnnyt

Interesting Johnny T and thanks for sharing.

I wonder is some other type of product could do the same thing to help hold on the chalk. In particular, some type of spray adhesive might work. I would llke to hear back from some folks trying different products. Rubber cement? I doubt it, but you never know unless it is tried.

Lets see

With that $30, I could buy 6 good cheeseburgers, and keep a quarter to buy a cube of Master's chalk.

I like the feel of the chalk but after playing several hours with it I have to say I believe we have all been bamboozled. If you are a serious player and play long sessions, you will still chalk the cue frequently in order to prevent any chance (several times I have went several games or shots and miscued at key times while using draw) of miscuing at critical moments. Also, it seems that if the conditions are rainy and humid you will chalk more frequently and miscue as you would if it was master's chalk or any other brand.

I will probably use my cube til it is gone then go back to regular chalk. If the price was half off I would probably use it consistently.

You must be a helluva bartender with the way you mix things up ;). I haven't tried the $30 chalk simply for one reason and its not the cost, even though I would have to chain it to my shorts for safe keeping :) My pre shot routine would have to change too much. I start with the chalk in my hand and wipe the cue tip until I get down for the shot. AND at $30 a cube that could be an issue.

That's the main reason (pre shot routine) I tried it as a base for my Masters chalk. Its hard to change a routine you've had for years. Johnnyt

It's already in the works and I have seen the ad. Kamui is coming out with a new version next year. A little darker and they say even better. That's going to cost you!!!!
