Looking good, man. There's nothing like having your own table. The words "i'm bored" are never to be said again.

Nice set up. Championship Tournament edition is very good cloth. Maybe you could save money and just have the new rails covered in the same cloth.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I've been playing on the table for the last six or seven hours and the championship cloth plays good. Not Simonis good but good. The medalist sure isn't a gold crown but I'm happy with the way it plays. It will play even better when I get the new rubber and Simonis on it. All good things come to those who wait. But for now, I'm satisfied for sure.

very cool.... got a question for you- I am looking at a 9ft Medalist in my area, and just wondering- do you really notice any difference in the way this table plays vs a GoldCrown? I was under the impression that they are almost identical except for the base.... thanks!

Congrats on getting your table. Nothing better than having your own table. Practice whenever you want, never closes...

Happy Days are here again.... You'll enjoy playing on your "new to you" Pool Table.

I think the cloth contrast is great... I may do that to mine next time.

Do a little practice with your rails & take that info to town & see what the difference, if any, there is.

Good luck & ENJOY..!

Congrats Sir. Very good looking and will provide hours of entertainment. Look at it like a money saving option. With a pool table at home you don't need to spend lots of money going out to entertain yourself ! ;)

I had a 9ft Gold Crown in my old house and loved it. As far as how this table plays, it doesn't have the new simonis or new rubber on it yet but I can tell you that it plays great the way it sits right now. I'm honestly not good enough to tell the difference between the way this plays compared to the gold crown I used to have so they play the same to me I guess. I would say if you can get the Medalist at a good price then go for it. BUT if you can hold out for a 9ft gold crown you should do that. They say the gold crown is a lot more solid and the gold crown has the leg levelers. If I had it my way I would have bought another gold crown but this medalist will do just fine for what I need it for and am happy with my decision. Plus this medalist was over half the price of what the gold crowns go for and I'm on a tight budget so I'm good for now.

Thanks! The contrasting cloth isn't intentional. I have new Simonis 860 coming but have to wait until I can afford new rubber so I can get the pockets shimmed, put new rubber and new cloth on all at once. his contrasting cloth is only a temporary solution because I have no patience and wanted the table set up as soon as possible. But the championship tour edition cloth plays good so far.

Congrats!!!!! Looks good, I hope year enjoy it for many years to come. I know I love mine, just wish I woulda started playing earlier.

Looks good and i'm in the same position as you are about wanting a 9' table. My room is bare minimum size for a 9' table which is what I wanted, but if I went with the 9' table it wouldn't leave me room for my TV, Stereo, and other extras so I kept my old over sized 8' table. I'd be so happy to have a 9' Diamond sitting in my room, but I just can't do it right now. I can open up one side of my room by moving an interior wall that was put there to create a storage area behind it and i'll have plenty of room. I couldn't swing doing that when I moved into my new home so I took the easy route and kept my 8' table for a while.
