5 new winners at the DCC need names

Starting in 2007 there will be 5 new titles added to the DCC.

These titles will fall in the All Round Division. Right now $20,000 goes to first, $3,000 to second and $2,000 for third to the players that have the most points from all three divisions. In addition there will be 5 -- $1,000 winners as follows:
---------------- ------------------- Title
1. Player under 16 ------------ ?????
2. Player under 21 ------------ ?????
3. Player over 62 -------------- ?????
4. Player over 70 --example-- Super Senior
5. Female any age ------------ ?????

These divisions are being created as a kinda Tournament within a Tournament. I realize many players at the Derby play for a variety of reasons. Some to improve their game. Some as an honor to play a top Pro. Some to see how they match up or just support POOL. Whatever their reason I'd like the chance to thank these people for supporting the DCC with a title and $1,000 for playing in all 3 divisions. Also remember that just because you may qualify for one of these new titles doesn't mean you can't win the $20 k also!

As a Diamond Table owner and lover of the game, may I thank you for offering up the best venue in the world, ala, the DCC. May I also offer you my encouragement to step up and make a much needed change to the bank pool finals:

Groupie is a joke of course. I couldn't come up with anything and since guys in the pool world refer to both female players and fans of the game as groupies, that's all I could think of at the moment. (FWIW, IMO groupies are the girls that give themselves up to a player simply becaue he's a player or the ones that go to tournaments to see who they can see and be seen with) ;)

I notice the last three you listed are Navy titles. The first two are a little out of place though. How about; under 16 - Cadet, under 21 - Lieutenant.

Ok, I'll play some themes here

1. Player under 16 -- Scout, Swashbuckler, Wizard
2. Player under 21 -- Mercenary, Warrior, Warlock
3. Player over 62 -- Rogue, Knight, Sorcerer
4. Player over 70 -- Trooper, General, Magnus
5. Female any age -- Valkyrie, Queen, Enchantress

Or, a plaque could be given with the name of the plaque itself

1. Marksman of the table
2. Sniper of the table
3. Veteran of the table
4. Warhorse of the table
5. Sharpshooter of the table

Keep it simple, IMO. I hate theatrics.
 
DCC Titles

I'm not much on computers and don't know how to set up a poll or organize all the suggestions. Would appreciate someone taking over and allow the AZers to select the title names if this is possible....Greg/Diamond
 
1. Player under 16 receives the Chickadee Award.
2. Player under 21 receives the Hawkeye Award.
3. Player over 62 receives the Eagle Award.
4. Player over 70 receives the Buzzard Award.
5. Female any age receives the Peacock Award.

Both Mark Griffin and myself appreciate all the suggestions AZers are giving us concerning improvements at the DCC. Please keep them coming! We are thinking hard about the bank pool finals as well as 10 ball. The change will not happen this coming January, but we can talk more at the DCC. Greg/Diamond

Hmmm..I was thinking Athena the goddess of war. Or Nike the goddess of Victory....For the Female player of DCC.

But most people would probably hate that line of thinking. The whole Greek god thing.

So I will have to come up with something that doesnt make people confused.

Hmmmm....

Then as a jeweler my second thought was different metals or Alloys or gemstones. Women would only want to be Diamonds.

And the whole Silver/ Gold thing for someone older is overdone. So back to the drawing board.
