5 rail one-pocket break?

Why would you want the cueball above the side pocket?

RBL

If I'm breaking, common sense tells me that toward the rack is "above" the side, but call it whatever you want.

I have no desire to "call it what I want", I call it what it is. Above the side pocket is toward the headrail and below the side pocket is toward the footrail. Common sense, as you have shown, has nothing to do with it.

Thanks, but I don't care or need to hear about your desires.

Toss the semantics and jargon and employ common sense.

er, since like the dawn of time you send balls "up table" when shooting away from the rack area. I know what you mean and it is kinda confusing but to speak proper pooleze I think you're trying to say "below the side pocket."

I'm not saying anything about up table, down table, foot spot, or head spot.

If I'm breaking, I want the cue ball stopping above the side pocket, from my perspective.

Yes, I know. And it seems assbackwards but the way 99% of the pool world talks it's the udder way around. Always been that way.

It's like when I first starting playing 14.1 and I'd have a break ball behind the rack. It's sounds logical to say it's "above the rack" but if you want anyone else to know what you're talking about it's "below the rack."

I guess better to have too many than not enough.

Sadly, I probably just have too many wrong thoughts.

I'm just sayin'

To much ignorance and sarcasm for anyone to actually address your question, but figure the break out and trap somebody :-).
If I'm understanding you correctly, the table is so janky it's impossible to get the ball to hold down table after the break?? Soooo, your solution is to let it go 5 rails. Well...., it works. I just shot it a couple of ways on my table and it was somewhat effective. I'm having to hit the ball about 5 times harder than you to get it to carry 5 rails though. Softer stroke and more finesse and it would be easier to hit the position. It's probably the dead nuts break on that particular table if you dial it in.
Also your way ahead of most these trolls. As you can see, trying a 5 rail break is more than their piss ant brains can handle. Even though they are selling out game after game with a traditional break, doing something out of the norm to allow them a win on janky equipment is completely out of the question. Idiots.
Keep doing, thinking, and questioning everything!!!!!

If you're having trouble with balls leaking out, you could just break the 2nd and 3rd balls, trying to clip the 2nd one just like in the normal break. You can even do it with the 3rd and 4th balls.

But first, try sticking with the normal 1st and 2nd ball break, but move the CB to about 1 diamond in from the rail.

Best advice on here. On some tables the conventional head ball/second ball break doesn't work so well. Just move down a ball or two or even three and you can make an effective break shot. Much better than scratching on the break!

You talked about the squirt on a normal break, believe it or not that is what I actually go for! when done correctly that is normally when I make a ball in the break!

Thank you. Finally, someone who has tried or seen it.

Tables that do not hold a break

R U Nuts?
I am.
I beak the bottom 3 balls. The end ball and the two touching it. You knock one ball to your hole. Hold the opponent on the side rail and he sells out in 1 to 3 at bats.
Why it works I just do not know. Looks too easy to beat.
Death trap.
Nick :)
