Even if Higgins is innocent, a match with Ronnie would be the best way to go from a marketing perspective. They are the two most exciting players right now.
It also doesn't say how long it will be. I think it would be kind of cool to do a best of 69 like the old days, but I doubt that would go over.

Hold your horses now. Even if guilty, like him or not, he can play this match. Challenge matches are not part of WPBSA tournaments...
WPBSA can't ban John Higgins from playing snooker, they can only ban him from playing in their events...
In fact, I'd love to watch a challenge match for million pounds between Higgins and O'Sullivan. Imagine the publicity...especially if Higgins was found guilty already...

Why would John Scott of Events Du Monde put this winner takes all event together given the recent accusations of Higgins dumping? It sets up as potentially the biggest, easiest saver ever.

Maybe it's another sting lol... "John, why don't you have a seat right over there."
It's bait to entice him into arranging the saver so they can definitively prove he's shady.
But probably the guy putting up the money just wants to see two of the best play for big bucks.
If you read Scaramouche's link then John does seem a little confused on the difference between Snooker and Pool.
