I just have too much time waste. Here's a 6 point full splice blank that I've been
working on. This is my first post so if I'm not following protocol please advise. I
hope the attachment photo appears.

Saw this at the BCA tourney at Lincoln city. This cue is super cool. Ernie had a couple other cues there too. Really great stuff from this guy.

I will try to add photos. This is my first attempt at the 6 pt blank. This was done last
summer, I have one order for a ebony, birdseye blank that I will get to when I refine my
tooling fixtures. I going to lenghten the pts. But I'm busy refining my 4 pt full splice
blanks first. I've included a couple of my blanks that I'm turning down to finished
diameter.
The 6 pt isn't anything special to play with, it feels the same as my other full splice,
but I think with the extra points and glueing surface it makes it more stable.

Very very cool. I like it!!

thanks for the response

I want to thank Jim Baxter for pushing me into posting on this forum. There is a lot of
great stuff on these forums. I enjoyed reading the thread on full splice cues and some
of the techniques used in the machine section. I did spend plenty of time crusing thru
all the cue photos, wow. There is a lot of nice stuff out there.

And I want to thanks all those that responded to this posting, you know what it is like
to get positive feedback.

thanks again,
Ernie,

ps. I wanted to start a thread on the balance point property. Which forum would this
posting go under?

Beautiful work!

Glad you posted. Thank you!

As for the balance point discussion, you will find it has been discussed already, but nothing wrong with starting a new discussion. Where to post? If you want a more technical discussion on construction then I would post in the cue makers forum. If you want a more generally qualitative discussion with players then I would suggest the main forum.

You will find some people willing to argue about such things as balance point, but I think it's an interesting topic and am confident that people would contribute some valuable insights and discuss the matter in a productive way.

.

Very cool, i believe your the first to build a 6 pt blank in this fashion...now get to work on putting some veneer in the 6 pointer

Precision work. Respect. If you add a veneer on 6 pt blank it will be a bomb.:clapping:

I'm going to want one of those 6 pointers with veneers...

Great Stuff here !!!

I want to thank Jim too ! Welcome, always great to hear of a full-splice maker .... but please be careful and don't waste so much time here that you don't finish those fixtures

Dave <--would like a 6 point full splice cue
