My Szamboti tribute.

I have to start by thanking Fatboy for showing us his collection. I designed this cue after looking at his collection.
I was lucky enough to meet Fatboy and see his cue collection. He showed us every cue and told us the story behind it. WOW!
I've never met a guy who loves and respects cues more then Erick.
Everything about Fatboy was first class.

All white is Ivory. Ebony on Ebony 4 veneer. Purple, green, blue, red. Should be finished this week and I'll list it in the for sale section when it's ready.

Came out good. Looks better after the glue is trimed off. Danny saw it in my shop when it was a glued up mess.

thanks sir, its awalys a honor to anve you and show the world Gus and Barrys work, I wish more people would stop by and see them(the Szamboti's familys many years of work)-its about them not me(who ownes them isnt important-sharing them and teaching people what I know of them is important-to keep the Tradition Going-I learn much as possible so I can help with that), the Szamboti family is a family like no other, the love in their family is impossible to describe let alone comphrend, its deep, with purpose. That love helps me with the not having a family, the cues are what brought us together but are not what makes or keeps us close.

For the record I have never bought a cue from Barry or asked for favors-were are friends(and i know he is triple busy and back logged), I will but one someday, for me its more important that others get to own Barrys work, therefor I dont ask Barry for cues(exept one plane jane). Our relationship is much deeper than cues and my relationship with Barry and learning about Gus helps me fill a void in my life of not having a family, I do have a wondeful girl who knows about Gus, Barry-the bond is we share is personal the cues were the bridge to bring us togther. And to show those cues to people is a honor I take seriously as Gus & Barry did making them. The 2 most preciouse cue is the GSB because they both worked on it, and the tribute cue to Gus.

I play with a mid 70's Gus, I wish it could talk, Its a piece of love to me not a cue. This might sound over board or too much-only to the people who dont know the Szamboti's.

thanks for stopping by,

eric

ps, Gracio cues hit real nice, especially that one your keeping. WOW nice cue

I had so many people like that Titlist I sold it when I got back from Vegas. I don't need a cue that kewl. I'm keeping the Curly Maple in the pics below.

I wanted to start a thread about our trip and meeting you but words can't describe the experience. When we head to Vegas again we'll definitely give you a call and play few games. Maybe play a set or two for some of that green paper everybody talks about.

When you and Barry break out that cue you better bring a camera. Those pictures could make history.

That my friend is quite simply, "the finest piece of artillery I have seen in a long long time!" Amazing work. I also loved the titleist conversion that sold here a while back. Very well done!!!:D

It was great to have you and the crew, I wont play you for $$$ were friends and I dont play friends for $$$, except Jay but we play small. I suppose we could do that-I'd give you some weight playing 8B.

That cue I hit that force follow shot with was amazing, damn I wish I hit that shot that good all the time-must have been the cue. Seems like if you can do it once you should awalys be able to do it.

I'm really looking foward to the day we get out the Tribute Cue together, I wont hit a ball with it until Barry and I are together, to honor his dad together, sadly I never met or spoke to Gus, I had my chances and never did. For some reason when I was younger I let alot of oppertunitys pass by, my parents were from the depression and let alot of things pass them and I was influenced by the "play it small" mentality, now I think I have over corrected the other direction, a bit too much. Back to the Tribute Cue-that cue is property of the Szamboti family, I just keep it in my safe-until Barry isnt paying attention. ;) I'm gonna keep the GSB to me that is the 2nd most important cue in my collection.

That cue looks incredible Scott - get some good close up pictures of it and we'll post it on your site for sure.

When I got the pics of my cue I saw that one in the background and was curious about what it was! :)
