LOl, I never said that I want to download for free :sorry: Just be cause I am all the way down to Romania and I don't want to pay more on postal and custom taxes and to wait 2-3 weeks, it is easier to download like I did with books and video from The Monk.
And I pay for what I want.

I think you made me infamous for nothing, you are too jumpy .

Sorry, when someone around here says something like that, it's usually the first thing in people's minds. Also, I was not aware that you could pay for and download anything at all resembling 99 Critical Shots. The monk stuff, I wouldn't take it for free, just my opinion.

I've owned the "99 Critical Shots" book since 1975. It's general excellence is just one reason to celebrate it. Another more subtle reason to appreciate it is that it was written by one of the old masters of the straight pool era, and as a group, they, in my opinion, produced disappointingly little in print. This is in part attributable to the view of many back then that sharing your knowledge was at odds with making as much money as possible.

About the Monk stuff, I downloaded from his site or received them by mail, and of course that I paid for them. I just thought that I can find the 99 book in electronic so it will be easier to get.

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't pay for them, just that I wouldn't take them if they were given to me. I've seen the monk and was not impressed.

I purchased a copy of this book after reading this thread.
This book is definitely worth buying.
Just wanted to bump it up for anyone that hasnt heard of it.
I have really enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone that recommended it.

I think I'm going to the book store tomorrow to make a purchase.

you should definately buy it and the next thing you should do is go to a fedex/kinkos and have them shave the binding off and put in a spiral binding so it lays flat on a table (they only charge 6 bucks to do it). i love the book and recco'd it to someone and they showed up a week later with it laying flat on the table practicing the shots. Much like Capelle's "prcticing pool" which has the spiral binding, it makes the book a much more effective pratice tool when you can lay it open and not have to fight the pages.

Interference shot

Can someone explain to me the one shot called INTERFERENCE Shot before it goes into other Carom shots.

It shows the cueball blocked from seeing the object ball that rests in the jaws of the corner pocket. The cueball and blocking ball are lined from second diamond to opposite corner pocket and it states to shot cueball to first diamond and it will sink the object ball.

Doesn't work what am I missing.

shoot the shot center to edge, its just a carom shot and is similar to a push shot

Draw a line from the corner pocket oppisite to the pocket the OB you want to make is. The imaginary line should go from the middle of the empty pocket, through the interference ball to diamond 11. Now aim your QB half way between the pocket with the OB you want to make and diamond 11. So you aim your QB at diamond 10 on that rail and the QB will carom off the interfering ball and hit the ball into the pocket. It's a 14.1 shot...not a rotation shot in this case. I hope you can understand what I wrote. I didn't explain very good sorry. Johnnyt

Here's the shot.

The cue ball is shown not frozen to the object ball. The spin diagram shows a center-ball hit. If the cue ball goes straight to the object ball, the shot is clearly a foul.

If the cue ball is frozen to the object ball, you can shoot through like this and it is a legal shot at pool. This is also called the "two times fuller" system and has been discussed quite a bit.

The balls need to be frozen.
