A Day with Peter Balner

I finally met Peter. We had a brief but super visit at his new Santa Clarita, California billiard store location. He has an interest in Quintessentials, a supplier of pool tables, games, etc. This particular store is run by his son, James. They deal in fashionable pool tables, games, and accessories for game rooms.

Peter has been extremely helpful to me and to all who have inquired about Palmer cues identification and history. My site was pathetic before he swooped in to help me!

In his heyday, he knew all of the legendary cue makers, all of the players, and I am totally impressed with his knowledge of the sport. Peter is still youthful and very, very smart. He went to the top in several industries, but video was his big one - and he did very well. I am sure that we will spend more time together. We had a very nice lunch with James. I gave Peter and James some special artistic framed photos of my collection, I showed them about 20 of my top older cues, and generally time flew by too quickly.

Here's a pic of us. You would never know that outside it hit 114 degress that day. Can you guess what kind of cues we're holding?

Great Post Chris, as you said there is no better way to document history than from those making it.

Also I am the individual who sent that photo of that 3rd catalog #5 cue yesterday, thanks again for your help.

Awesome!!

That's about all I can say, Chris...

...that is AWESOME!!

History is only made once.

And you should be credited for connecting all of these Palmer dots.

I know you had a little help from your allies in and around Chi-Town, but your patience and persistence and care has really paid off.

Peter...John Davis...

...if you are not careful...you might just bring Palmer back from the dead.
