I just snapped a couple pics tonight as I was working. These are pics of dry fitting the buttsleeves, the rings are now aligned so they line up. The cues are coming along great! I only have one more handle to install and I will start inlaying. I plan on letting the wood do the talking in most of the show cues this year so I really don't have too much inlaying to do. I also have a couple box cues going and will post some pics when the boxes are done. Chris.

Very nice I real like the ebony with the blue butterflies and the flame butteflies!!!

I can't wait to see what they look like after you put your super finish on them.

It was was impressive to see the cues you are refinishing for even with a partial finish.

Nice work on the butterfly splices, they wont last long at Valley Forge.

Such amazing work, Chris. Really. Such razor sharp points, beautiful butterflies, and vibrant colors. Those cues pop already, and the finish hasn't even been applied. The blue and orange flame cues are simply gorgeous. I'd LOVE to see the ebony cue with an ivory joint and butt capp.

Ugh Chris.....

Dont put inlays in those cues. Let your work tell the story.

JMO, you can only take away from them. The inlays will not add anything to the cues.

Nice cues (as they are....)

Ken

Nice work Chris!

Those look excellent, Chris. Keep up the Awsome work. I am looking forward to seeing you at Valley Forge this year, Kent

What he said. INLAYS? What in the world could you possibly be considering polluting those cues with??? Those cues are marvels because the veneer and butterfly work and color combinations stand out on their own. They need no adornment. But again...WTF do I know. *L* I just think that inlays are always the first thing a person sees when they look at a cue...that shouldn't be the case with these.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the compliments! These will not be inlayed other that the ebony with the blue veneers. That cue will have a sectioned ebony handle with ivory rings and there will be inlays in the rings. The inlays will be in the other cues I have going. I am really on a traditional style kick at the moment so I will mainly be doing mitered boxes and small style inlays. Nothing excessive. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Chris.

Wow....a sectioned handle. That's going to be so goddam hot. Is the cue spoken for? If so I'm going to stalk your booth so I can club the lucky bastard when he/she picks it up.

Looking real good Chris. I especially like the blue butterfly into ebony. They'll really come alive with finish on them!

Super looking cues, especially the flamed butterfly. Do post pics of them when they are finished.

Thanks for sharing!

Awesome looking cues Chris. Can't wait to see them at the Expo. If they don't sell the minute you put them out! That blue butterfly is the nutz! What ring work are you going to do with that?

Thanks everyone! I just got back from the derby city and had a great but short time there. I got some exciting news I cannot share just yet but, all the cues will be going to valley forge for a photo shoot before the show. I am back in the shop today and will also try to get caught up on my pm's and emails. My pm box was full so if I missed anyone I just made some room. Thanks Chris.

A few picks from last night. I am starting on some boxes and inlays this weekend as well as installing joint rings and collars.
