The tournament was great to attend and play in! The amount of bodies kept the place warm, but I really didn't feel like it was unbearably smokey. Maybe I'm just not as sensitive to it as others.

I probably shouldn't have won either of my matches, but luck was with me at my first Texas Open! I'll definitely try to make it back next year!

that was a fun weekend..it was nice meetin some of y'all on here. thanks melinda for the pics!! i got home around 2am to get sleep for an 8am work meeting and still overslept!! i shoulda just stayed at the tournament til the end and not slept lol..

Tournament weekend!
WOW! What a great tournament that was! AND EXHAUSING!!! So many good matches to sweat (literally) LOL!!!
I want to give a shout out to Melinda, Ray and whomever else kept everyone that was unable to attend the tournament updated! Talk about a committment!!! They went above and beyond and LOVED every minute of it!!!
Yes, it was a bit hot (well, that MAY be an understatement) and a bit smokey, but I would definitely play this tournament again! And not b/c I won it either! :happydance: And I can even say this after pulling in my driveway at 5:30 a.m. and getting up to go to work at 7:15!!! OUCH!
So.......THANKS AGAIN TO ALL!!!! Paul and Lewis did another outstanding job trying to run this tournament as smooth as possible.

He is a fantastic player. There were a LOT of fantastic players in attendance at this tournament! HOLY MOLY!!!! That Rafael is something else! SHEESH!

I got a picture with Shane & Shawn Putnam! I wished I got pics with more of these great players!! There where soooo many!
Gabe played some really great pool!!! I believe a roll or two different and we may have had a different outcome.
No one got more than 4 games against Shane until Hillbilly got to 7 and Gabe got 6!!!
Thanks to everyone for following the play by play. It was exhausting, but we all had a great time!!!
I've got so much more to say, but I'm gonna drink some coffee and go to work!

Thanks Big Rig ( lol ) for all that you did in this tournament. You and the rest of the staff running the tournament did a good job man but have no respect for G Cue for not doing anything about there ac. That is just a joke and these players had to suffer in those conditions and not including all of you guys because I never saw any one of you leave to get a break or some cool air. Actually there was nothing G-cues could do about the A/C. It froze up!!! They did go and buy fans, which helped considerable.
There is always something we can complain about. Each year Gary and Kevin have worked to make the event better and I'm sure next year will be an improvement again!
I wouldn't have left if you paid me!! One thing I observed in the top players is that they adjusted to the conditions and carried on!
The one change I would like to see is another table or 2!! With 11 tables and 155 players in 2 tournaments it was amazing that we finished when we did!! Paul Blank IS the "master" of the boards!! This guy is a champion TD!!
Hope to see you in Houston or Waco!!
