This past weekend I played with 63 other women in the Regional Tour Championships at Hard Times. I am also a professional photographer and am currently testing a camera out for Leica. I decided to do a little homage to what I consider one of the all time great players room. I posted the story on my blog today and thought some of you might like to check it out.

Great photography all over your website. Thanks for sharing :smile: I had the opportunity to go and watch some of your tournament on Saturday. That was an interesting format they used with the groups and round robin thing. How did you like playing in that format?

I loved the format, even though I got a little screwed when one girl decided not to show up the 2nd day. Oh well. Still it was nice to be get to play so much.
 
You really do take some AMAZING pictures. It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to see you work!

Thanks. And yes, Hard Times is "one of the all time great players room". Many who post here have stories of their time at Hard Times. It was my home away from home for several years when I was in CA and still hear from some good players I met there.
 
I have been to poolrooms all over the world and have yet to see another that has a better high level competition set-up/environment than that of Hard Times Billiards in Bellflower, Ca.

That makes me even more excited to be the House Pro there :thumbup:

If the girl did not show up the seccond day, would you not have received the full points of 6-0? just curious :rolleyes:

It was not just games... break & runs, balls on break, 9 on the break, all factored in to your percentage. So she was erased from the group, no one got credit... for me, I was at a point where two big wins meant a lot and had I beaten her, I also would have had momentum going into my last match, which instead I lost... though very close.

It may have made no difference at all but I will never know. I think they handled it the fairest way they could... it is just one of those things...

I see thanks for the clarification. I definately see where that could change things especially the momentum. Tough break!! get them next time.

I added a few more pool related posts yesterday and today. A portrait of my RTC roommate and one of the 9 WPBA card winners, Amy Chen. Then today, a little pool princess, daughter of player Bob Lea and current U.S. Amateur Champion Betty Sessions, Madison. I am sure she will be a future WPBA star.

Beautiful pictures! I've never been there but I'm itching to go check it out.

(Although, I think I just read somewhere that Corey is attacking pool players!)

BTW-- I was looking through your website of images and ran across Mac Smiths! When I worked out of Anderson I ran across this place and it was a favorite of ours. Reminded me of my roots in Southern Alabama.

Really love looking at your pictures especially the still life images. While I know nothing about photography I like how emotions and thoughts are
conjured while viewing them. Surely a talent as many still life images are pretty plain and bleak with no emotion coming to the viewer.

Is there anywhere else to view your work?
