There's been two good movies about pool, and several bad ones. But has anyone ever considered making a documentary style movie about, let's say-24 hrs. in the life of an action room like Hard Times? It would have all the real local color, all the woofing, all the characters like McCready,Toof, etc., and of course gambling action. The players and rail would be miked. I'd love to see that movie.

There's a couple of good documentaries in the works now. They should be out later this year.

I do know that there was a movie made in CA where the extras for the pool room scenes were the real thing. Made for tv movie with Dennis Franz, and Whoopie Goldberg--- didn't care for the movie, but liked Dennis and the "extras". It was Kiss Shot.

I was one of the extras. Almost forgot that piece of garbage. Jerry Breisath was Whoopi's coach. I swear she couldn't even hold a cue, let alone shoot with one. And she was supposed to be a top player in the film. What a joke that was. It was on TV exactly one time. One time too many as far as I was concerned. F-

Me, too. But we didn't embarrass ourselves, saw how a tv movie was made, found out Dennis Franz(sp) was a down to earth good guy (he ask you to play golf?), got a day off work, and got paid:rolleyes:

Jim

The gal from Chicago is working on it. Angel something. She was there the last two years. She's a pro in the film biz.

I think we just bought some groceries for the producer. :D

Jack & Jay...Jerry Briesath was the technical consultant for all the actors on that movie (not just Whoopie). He told me he had a terrible time trying to teach Whoopie to hold the cue and stroke correctly. She never did "get it"! :D

Scott,
Everytime you see her hold the stick and get down to shot you want to cry. btw, heard via grapevine that Jerry's wife is sick - what have you heard?

See if Kevin T. is listed a the producer. ;) *movie voice* From the Makers of the hugest tournament EVER, from the person that brought to you unverifiable and non-proven cures, comes the greatest picture to never be really made!!!!.

You think that was a piece of garbage? Did you see "Kisses and Caroms"? I WANT MY TWO HOURS BACK! A "Clerks" wannabe set at a billiards supply shop. If you could forgive the writing, acting and cinematography you might only call it awful. It had a "pro" female who couldn't stroke her way out of a paper sack. Can't they at least spent a few hundred on lessons?

From what i heard "kid Delicious" is supposed to be having a movie made about him. That should have plenty of action. He is one of the better money players that i know. and he is one funny MF'er

A documentary taking place at hard times would be a waste of time. Having one at the DCC, thats the idea to take home with you.

I would love to see a movie about the life of Keith McCready. What a character and the stories he has are priceless. It would definitely be one everybody could enjoy.

Lets see....there was

Survivor
Next Top Model
Joe Schmoe
The Ultimate Fighter
Flavor of Love
Making The Band
I love NY
The Millionaire
The Big Break (golf for those of you that don't recognize this one)

Why not have a pool reality show...Throw some top players and woofers in a house for a month with a pool room in the middle. Have challenge matches...gaff shot contest etc. come up with a format to eliminate people until the last one standing wins.

What to call it....What to call it...
