A none murdered animal cue please.

I think he's been a pretty good sport about this and hasn't totally flipped out, so give him some credit and a little room.

Agreed...just trying to be funny kind sir.No offense intended.

Not too long ago, relatively speaking, many billiard balls were made of ivory as well.

Now if you tell me you are shooting with them elephant balls - I will never fall asleep tonight.

Question - Once all the elephants are gone - is it OK to use their ivory? No need to ban it then.

And "yes" - it is a real python skin wrap.

Well, sort of...

Well, sort of... Do "Elephant Practice Balls" count? I use them now and then.

Do you really buy this??????

Come on guys, do you really buy this whole act from seb9????

Top 5 list why this is all BS

1. Using an English translator program? Why does it give him slang like "it's all good" and kinda? Also, some of his word choices are quite amazing given the fact he is not English, as he likes to say.

2. Must be carrying the AZ rule book in his back pocket because he keeps saying "isn't there a rule against this and that on this forum".

3. Somehow didn't notice the 1000s of nice, expensive cues out there that do not have ivory and are for sale.

4. Ignored the first 25 people when they tried to tell him that some of the cues he was talking about were made our of synthetic ivory.

5. Ignored the first 50 times someone asked him if the tips he uses are leather. Never really answers but says that he is going to invent a synthetic material tip. Starts another thread asking about the difference between screw-on tips and glue on ones. In that thread he says that he uses a glue on. Must be a vegan using a leather tip since he has not invented that synthetic tip of his yet??? Still never really answered the question.

I really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt in the beginning. I thought maybe he just road the short bus to school as a kid(if he knows what I am talking about then he probably speaks english). But the problem is when he creates something like this with BS loaded on top of BS on top of BS, all you have to do is shoot holes in one part of his story and the rest of it falls apart.

Just my 2 cents.

Nathan

FYI, a couple things...

FYI

1 - "Elephant Practice Balls" is a specially designed product
for advanced training. Do a search on google. They are not
the highest quality, and I had to send my first set back as
the "printing" on the black-stripe-with-red-circle-and-dot
ball was unbalanced. And a friend's set has an unbalanced
half-red-half-white ball.

2 - I actually spent about 15 minutes trying to find the story
(or article) about the homemade cue. I could not find it, and
gave up for now.

was the guy who got murdered a pool shark and what happened to his pool cue again?
I heard that soldiers when come off patrol say "hey, I'm all trolled out" Is that right or just a rumour. I travelled in fifteen countries, in a suitcase all the time so I couldn't see what was going on but I think so.

I have an idea. What if we stop using all woods from Africa and Southeast Asia? I mean, the elephants have to eat something and, by building cues, we take away their food. In fact, maybe we should stop using wood altogether. Just because a tree doesn't cry, doesn't mean it doesn't die.

How about we just let this thread die out.
seb, its easy to let a thread die out. Just don't post in it anymore and let is burn out like a fire. If you never see it again, then it doesn't exist, you know?

If you're serious about your tip idea, good luck man. Maybe you'll strike new ground and come up with something great :)

I think it's OK to use the ivory from an Elephant. As long as you take the skin too and use it for a wrap and possibly a case.

It would be cool to cut the whole leg off and use it for a case. Just put the tubes inside the leg and put a lid on it. A laser engraved ivory lid of course.

Hi seb9,

I have a couple of questions, but first. When i met my wife she was a oval/lacto vegitarien (sorry if I spelled it poorly, i went to school in the US:eek: ). So I know a little about the moral fiber of this life style (and I know it isn't quite the same as a vegan, but it is in the same moral direction).

One, how long have you been playing cue sports and games (I don't know if you're a billiard, snooker, or pocket billiard person, ormale or female)?

Two, what type of cue have you been using up to this point, and do you know what the type is made of on it?

And do you know what othere materials tips can and more to the point made of?

I mean you no harm, but I too find this whole subject interesting.

Billiardpete out

This is the greatest idea I've heard yet. You could use the trunk for a shoulder strap or perhaps use the tail and trim off the toenails to make it an ultra-lite. I'm calling Jack as soon as possible.

Great suggestion. Fact is that every cuemaker or factory is relying on dead animals in building their cues....and everyone else heating and cooling their homes for that matter, including "seb9", although he'll try to have us believe otherwise. Dude, try providing fuel for a cue shop/factory without using coal (dead prehistoric animals) or hydroelectric power (i'm sure some fish have known to have gotten killed in the process of the getting those turbines moving). It's the same for the factories that produce your non-animal clothing, etc., etc. Give me a break.

Seb9, Now that you've been educated by many of us here at AZ about life on this planet, go bury your head in the sand some more.....
