I am more than happy to set up the area, it will just require a little time to move all of the existing threads into that area.

How about a separate area for CHALK, tired of hearing about that too.

WOW, Roger, you couldn't be more wrong. Spotlight? Yeah, that's why I'm one step away from quitting this forum.Ever consider that it is because some of us like to help others, but get tired of getting crapped on by those who don't even care to learn anything, but feel the need to butt in anyways??? Man, Roger, you really have no clue, do you?? You can take your spotlight and stick it where the sun don't shine. You teach, but how much help do YOU give others on here? Not much at all, why? Just because you can't charge anyone on here??
So farewell then, aiming systems. I might visit occasionally, I might not. Schadenfreude cannot be overdone.

I've got to agree with you, Sean. I think the biggest reason the regular participants in the aiming system debates have for not wanting their own sub-forum is not because it will limit their ability to teach as much as it will take center-stage away from them. They don't like that idea; they have become accustomed to having the spot light on them, and they don't want to give that up.

The forum rules state the following:Who's "they?" You've been "they" plenty of times. In fact, you've been smack in the middle of "they" writing stupid articles that call pivot aiming and CTE nothing but "marketing." You've been the KING POOBA of "they" posting your articles on the azb home page (basking in the spotlight so much you have a sun tan on your forehead).
My eyes hurt from rolling back so hard. If you want to see aiming system discussions progress, simply keep the "they" out of them such as PJ, Lou and their team out of them so "us" who use them effectively and those who want to learn them CAN without instigating a 15 year old fight over and over.
Go back to making cues that no one buys and giving lessons to people no one knows, head vampire of "they." Maybe write yet another article that has no real conclusion at the end that was based on research you didn't bother doing.
The forum rules state the following:
To be included, there will be no ad hominem attacks. No name calling nor insults. Disagreeing with someone is fine, but calling them an idiot because of their opinion is not.Spidey's post is a excellent example of a poster engaging in a ad hominem attack, name calling and insulting against another poster.
All posts will be kept civil.
If we had the appropriate enforcement of the forum rules, this type of inappropriate behavior would stop almost immediately.
IMO, it doesn't really matter where the aiming threads are located. What does matter is that we put some teeth into enforcing the forum rules.

Actually, I very rarely get involved in aiming threads. It took me a long time to bother to see what all the fuss was about, then, once I'd had my fill of the lunacy contained therein, I stayed away.
But it irks me that you so casually bandy the 'T' word about. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, Neddy. Don't forget that, and also, don't forget you don't speak for the entire board.
All your efforts on this site should be dedicated to just ONE question: why is America an irrelevance in world pool, and how can this be changed?
The answer ain't aiming systems, bub. The answer is cueing, fundamentals and poor teaching, and pertinently, replication of.
Great. Now go one step farther and let someone moderate only that section so that it can have useful discussion without the trolls.
John:
Honestly, I don't think that will be necessary. As I mentioned, I think this has its own solution. Just by being a subforum, it has its own bear-trap teeth. Trolls and troublemakers will now have to go look for trouble -- they have to physically enter the new aiming subforum, and by doing so, can be easily nailed, because they have no reason to be there except to start trouble.

Not true. I may go there to periodically, not to troll around, but to save people from these threads as I personally think that they are harmful to one's game. Someone has to do it - it is the humanitarian thing to do.
Let me put this another way: don't you feel sorry for all of those people putting in so much energy to play pool well only to get sapped down by aiming threads?
It appears that EVERYONE (aiming yeah sayers) thinks a poster who is anti-aiming threads is a cock roach. And to squash all of these so called roaches out is contrary to what the forum should stand for, especially if the criticism is founded on good principles.
I know this seems like a solution, certainly easier for the mods. But what happens when some new posters think the aiming gurus might be exaggerating a tad? They are bound to come to the main in search of different views. Or are they trapped in the aiming zone forever, only to have their questions moved back to where they originated?
