A question about your local pool hall prices

I pay 150 a month for a monthly pass from my pool hall and I probably would not be able to afford 3 to 6 hours of pool a day otherwise. The hourly rate is 4 bucks an hour/ per person. I am in Portland, Oregon. I am interested in other areas around the US. Does your area have a monthly pass and what does it charge? What is the hourly rate?

I play at 2 different pool halls.

One is $4/hour/person during the day. From 7pm-2am the price is $9/hour flat rate (no matter how many people are on the table).

The other room is $4/hour/person all hours.

This is in Tulsa. Neither have monthly passes that I'm aware of.

I own a room in Lakewood, Washington, I have a membership program that runs from 12:30 pm until 6:00 pm 7 days a week. I charge my customers $60 a month. Pictures of my room are posted in the room owners section, under a thread I started, Room owners please post photo's of your room.

Have a good night!!!!!

I think all poolhalls would do well with having a monthly membership pass, kinda like a gym, maybe pay a flat fee of a $100 or something and be able to play until you drop.See most poolhalls i have been to have specials, maybe from noon to 7 for $7,cant beat that at a dollar an hour.I think if you speak to a room owner and ask for a month pass at say a $100 the room owner will take the money and write up a pass if he or she is smart, they got a $100 whether you show up or not.

I would think it would have to be more than a 100.00 for a monthly pass. Most ball pushers wouldn't spend that much and most who I know who are serious at all spend more than a 100.00 a week.

If i play 4 days a week at say a special off $7 which i have taken advantage of at Kolbys during the daytime,it equates to $28 multiplied by 4 and you get $112,not too bad really for 112 hours of pool a month. :D
I do agree most serious players will spend more then that, sometimes in a single weekend of gambling but i just think its a good idea to get some guys in there who love the game but cant afford $100 or more a week in table time.

Pool halls around here usually let you play from 11am to 7pm for $5 (all you can play). Then after 7pm it's usually about $5 an hour per person.

I was very lucky. I traded some programming time for a lifetime of playing. Of course it helps that the owner is also a friend. Even without that, the cost at this room is $2.75 an hour.

one pool hall I go to is free if you play on APA. Free all hours any day. 9' tables.

Another one that has slightly better tables is only 2.50 an hour any hour any day if you play APA. 9' tables as well.

The only requirement is that you are on an APA team and play on at least one day a week.

Local pool hall. Charges 5.00 flat all day from Sun- Wednedsay...then its 4.00/hr per person From Thursday- Sat.

The two I frequent are 6/hour for the balls...niether cares how many people are using said balls or said table.

I guess owners need to get what they can and with good reason, but the per person part of this common billing practice is just kinda out there to me.I mean, once the table is consumed for use,its well consumed...be it one or six players.

I would think "encouraging" large parties would bring more cash for drinks food and such....charging per player discourages large groups I'd think.

But I'm no room owner...just kinda typing outloud.

No way I spend anywhere near $100 a week. I look for the specials, which vary from room to room, depending when I'm able to shoot. And believe me, in Chicago and the surrounding area, there are plenty of places and specials to take advantage of.

An employee at a local pool hall a few days ago told me that pool halls can't survive only on table time from gamblers. Nuff said...

Get the bangers in there, buying food and stuff, get them to bring their friends. That's the way for many places, I'm sure.

I'm not in the States but the place I pay at here is 10 bucks from 1:00 to 7:00 and then $7.00 an hour after that. If you're a member it's 6 bucks an hour. Ladies are $5.00 and $4.00 per hour. I was surprised that the prices were the same in Yokohama when I went up there last week.
MULLY
the room I usually play at has 10 GC IV's and 2 Metro's.

prices

I have owned a room for 10yr and my prices stay the same as i have11 bar boxes and it is .50 a game of 5.00 hr, a private room with gcrown 9ft and big t.v for 8.00 hr all semm happy!!!!

I put a table in my house so I don't go to pool halls all that often. But last friday I decided to stop at the local pool hall/bowling alley (since that is about all we have around here as far as pool halls go, they have 5 nine footers there) I got there around 1 pm (over my lunch break) and shot for an hour and fifteen minutes by myself. My bill was almost $9.00!!! :( I thought that was really expensive!! Thank god I have my own table. I try to practice two hours/day, I couldn't possible afford to shoot nearly as much as I do if I had to pay those prices!!! Sounds like you other guys are getting pretty good deals..

We have two rooms one is $2.50 perhour per person the other is two. One of the rooms charges twenty a month for a card that allows them to play pool for $1 hour.

room I play at is $5 an hour per person, If you play in 2 leagues out of there its $5 flat rate anytime at any of his 3 rooms. bar boxes is a 1.25 there and another place I play bar box at its $2 a game but you get to see some sexy women lol and may try and hustle u for $20 or free dance lol.

My regular place in RI has daily specials all week long. I think $7 all day weekdays, $8 at night, $8 all day weekends and $10 all night 7pm - 1am. For one person, it's way cheaper, for a group of 3-4+ that are sharing the time for an hour or 2, ends up cheaper for the hourly rate.

No other rooms I have seen in the area have a special, most are 6-12 an hour for 1 or 2 people depending on the time.

I pay $85 a month in a 33 table room if more then 8 tables are open its free with the membership. Normal price $9.00 hr daytime & 10.50 nightime.

My old pool hall I used to go to n the bay area was $35.00 a month including 15% off food. Normal rate $4.00 per person an hr. If tables were full you paid unless 3 or more were on your table then you were free again.
And if you ordered the 6.00 lunch plate you get 1\2hr free pool.
