Just wondering if anyone out there knew where *George* got the gold gears/rings that he used in some of his cues like the stuff shown below. I'd love to pick some up. Any help is appreciated. Cheers :)

That would be George, not Gus.
Does have a classic look!

Whoops. Brain fart lol. I meant George. That's what you get when you're looking at a Szam thread the same time you're making one about a Bushka :o

George used these rings on more than a couple cues. And I had always thought it was a stamped foil pattern in/under plastic or similar.

Added: I pretty sure I saw it from Mali or Viking first, but hard to date many of those 60's-70's cues exactly.

George would buy what we call the glitter bands from a pluming supply store.
Best,
Ken Kerner

so, they're referred to as glitter bands or wedding rings. I love it!

they really do look great on these 2 examples, imo.

Wrong place for this question.

I'm looking to buy (WTB) an original Balabushka cue with either Wedding Band or Glitter ring work. Depending on the rest of the specs, I can range between $2,750 and $4,250 and I have a Mezz I might throw in to sweeten the pot with.

Let me see what you've got.

No high ballers.

Thanks

Kevin
