A question ...

I am converting half of my shop to a man cave. The part being converted is 20' x 30'. I will be putting a pool table in it. (No it is not a gold crown or diamond. I am a poor sp ed teacher.) The floor is concrete with an epoxy coating. My question is this: Do I need to put anything under the legs or can they just sit on the concrete? I know probably a silly question, but I do appreciate any advice you can give.

Why are you thinking about putting something under the legs? Are you worried about damaging the epoxy coating? That would be the only reason to put anything under them unless your carpeting the room. Carpeting can cause leveling trouble, not really trouble, but may have to re-level after carpet "settles" so to speak.

You may want to think about putting carpet down. Even just a level loop commercial carpet without padding. It helps with comfort, warmth, and gives a lil cushion in the event a ball comes off the table or a cue gets dropped.

Congrats on your space, thats a nice size area for a mancave :)

No silly question

The feet on some tables allow it to slide easily, thats not a good thing. Also balls do fly off table occasionally. So a soft mat or rug might help prevent ball damage and slipping.

You don't have to have anything under the legs....though having something on the floor other than just concrete will help your legs! My table is on tile and after an hour or so my legs hurt from the hard tile. Congrats on the Man Cave!

By the looks of your high temps next week you better have plenty of insulation behind that blue pine.:) Welcome to the forum I love the area you live in but I have only been up there in the summer.

I originally put commercial carpet remnant down around my table for the comfort factor and quickly found it actually was not enough. I took it up and put inexpensive padding under the carpet. You'll be very glad you padded any carpet you put down.

Cuebuddy - We have only lived here about 2 1/2 years, but really like it here. We have an incredible view of Flathead Lake. Can't afford to live on the lake. It is beautiful most times of the year, but I have to admit I like summers much better than winters!

I have been up there at least 6 times on my way to Glacier park. It is one of the most under rated national parks. Last time I came back from Glacier I opted to stay east of the lake and found that side to be cool also. I bought some cherries that were about 2 inch's across.

Hey Big Arm. If you need any help getting that table set up I'd be glad to drop by. Just shoot me a PM. Don

pulzcul - What a nice offer. I am not sure how much longer the work is going to take in the shop. I hope not too long as we are running out of money! May have to decide between top cabinets or a ceiling. I will learn how to post pictures when it is done.

My table is on concrete. To really help the feet an leg problems I use shoe inserts. Cheaper than carpet.

My table is on concrete, but I will be putting some carpet down when I get the room closer to being finished. I want it for the warmth and to protect the pool balls when dropped or knocked off the table.

So I guess you could say Im more worried about my balls than my feet and legs
