A true all around for cue sports

We all know there are good tournaments which are called all arounds, but I've never seen a tournament which is a true all around for cue sports.

Notice I said cue sports, not just something on a 9footer.

This is more just for fun, but please think of games you can play on any kind of a pool table and post them here.

Also, please tell me who you think would win an all around considering that the following games would have to be in there.

One pocket
Nine ball
Ten ball (just because it seems there is such a difference in 9 and 10)
Eight ball
Straight Pool
Bar Box 8 ball (since there are so many leagues which play this game)

3 Cushion
Bumper Pool
Snooker
Golf (on a snooker Table)
Pyramid Billiards

What am I leaving out?

Do you think with so many games that an Efren or a SVB would not be the best overall player.

Thanks for the additions.

If this were to be serious, I know it would take 30 days or more to run. But say if someone put up $1M to the best Cueist in the world, how many disciplines should there be?

I'd say it isn't who you would think it might be

Anyone who is a "Professional" at something tends to have a certain specialty. This might take a lot of "pros" off of the radar IMO.

My guess is that it would be someone who is very good playing pool, but has no "specialty"

Agreed..this would take a long time to run. Wish you had the million(s) to pull it off.

If it could be pulled off what events make the cut?

Can it be narrowed down to 10 events with Bumper pool, snooker, 3 cushion having to be on the list, no exceptions.

I love it.

What a great idea! My money is on my buddy Earl. Then again, since i have never made any money backing him perhaps I should reconsider.

My feelings are that something like this is more interesting in theory than in actual execution. Watching Earl play pyramid against some russians did not come across as that serious; Earl is a pool pro, they are pyramid pros, the outcome is predictable. Same with watching Ronnie O'Sullivan playing 8 ball on the IPT; even though he had time to prepare, you were watching a pro at one thing do something completely different. In my eyes the outcome would be predictable, each match you'd see a specialist and someone learning the ropes of an outside game. The only way this would be interesting is if the contestants were truly jacks of all trades on the table and were masters of multiple games, kind of like Alex is a master at both pool and snooker or Evgeny Stalev playing pool and pyramid.

Why bumper pool? That game, and game table, died off at least 40 years ago. The only people who play bumper pool are two 8 yr olds, whose uncle found a bumper pool table for $50 at a yard sale.

Because it's a cue sport.

Also it's not dead at all. I know several adult pool players who will bet very high playing bumper pool. It has skill, you still have to execute, and a good player can run the game out from the first lag.

With regards to Earl or other players playing a disclipline, my point is that you will find out who the best cueist is for all cue sports. If you win snooker, golf on a snooker table, and 8 ball, then you have 3 1st place points on your side.

Corey Deuel is a great all-around athlete. He also expressed some interest in Russian pyramid ;)

Tommy whaddahell you are doing in Reutov, LOL

I ran into a guy on the road once who played big dollar bumper pool.

It's a game with unique strategies, which I like.

A search on ebay will find lots of bumper tables for sale. They are still making new ones, and the old ones go for hundreds of dollars...

I think a bumper table is great because it takes up little space. If I owned a pool hall, there would be six different tables, including one BPT.
