A visit from Greyghost.

I get so much respect from you guys things like this are the least i can do.....

you know i think the crooked wrist is the most often found bad habit thats just about the easiest to fix imop.

I actually use that V grip every so often in real time play...especially if i have to stroke very very straight and very soft.

But mostly just keep my thumb down.....if you watch the videos and see how i raise up and use the shaft to line up.....if you can see my thumb it points straight towards the shot when I have the stick raised up in the air.

When i drop down its pointed straight down.

That works great if your using the alignment techniques and the others hand in hand.....every little thing in that video was thought out for quite some time and tested/proven to work together.

Alignment is EVERYTHING IMOP......and just as a few of you have had problems with the wrist. Even if everything else is right: Grip, Stance, Bridge Distance etc.....having a crooked wrist takes all the good stuff and negates it. You can't stroke straight with a crooked wrist.

The players like Earl that have crooked wrists basically all TWIST the wrist during the final delivery of the cue to get it back in line.......that may work for them but obviously it doesn't work for us mortals.

Its all about the bodys mechanics......i didn't do anything or find anything special it was there all along in me and its there in every player. We are human and work in particular ways.....if you know how we work then it is much easier to accomplish tasks such as delivering a cue stick in a straight manner to the dedicated shot you have chosen.

I was blessed with a keen eye and mind for the little details. I'm glad that pool and billiards is what stole my attention years ago so i could focus and learn and share everything that has come to me from my own and from others.

There would be no point in having learned everything and to continue to learn if I were not to pass it along somehow. Being a player is great but I don't think that even if I were to be 5x better than Effren that it would change the face of the game one stinking bit.

BUT I can learn as much as i can on my own and from other poolosiphers like Scott Lee, Neil, Steve, Randy and others not mentioned including some great players. I can use that to help others, to spark interest, to raise the level of customary play in the game. Get kids involved, have everyone playing properly and loving the game for what it is........

THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO GROW THE SPORT

Like I said if you build it they will come and I, marcus and many others like us are all working our god given tools to make a change for the better.

As always if anyone ever has questions then just PM me. Im always around and always willing to lend an open ear and a helpful hand in resolving anyones issues wether its on fundamentals, game play, mentality or cues/equipment.

happy straight shooting,
-Grey Ghost-

Thanks for all the feedback. This weekend I will post the video Keebie did on the 9 ball break. We had to use another camera that's not as good as I had hoped, but that does not the diminish the strength of the presentation and content.

Thanks again,
Marcus

Great job with the videos, guys. Keep it up! It's quite useful to have an entire video dedicated to stance and grip, especially the V grip.
