Action in your local poolhall

Miami Florida: DEAD. The locals gamble amongst themselves but you rarely see road action in Miami.

All the action in South Florida is found at Hollywood Billiards and Victory Billiards in West palm.

Miami does have handicapped 8 and 9ball tournaments 3-4 times a week and if there is a slim chance of getting played, it will usually be at these handicrapper events. A few locals will play cheap but total strangers hardly ever get played for more than 50-100 set. If that.

I have heard that there is a spanish bar near the ocean in central miami that complete idiots play for 3 and 4 figure amts. Someone was shot there less than a year ago in the parking lot so I havent been too anxious to go there.

:rotflmao: Now that's some funny chit!!!!!

BTW, there's definitely action of all types to be had at Shooters in Greensboro, NC. I'm very new to the "action scene", but I suspect any road player can get action there - perhaps given a little time for a phone call or two to get out to the right local action players, and perhaps after his/her surveillance pic is scanned thru the data base to determine true speed :eyes J/K, kinda... There was this youngish unknown guy that pooped in last night that quickly got/won a $100 9 ball set, without the local running it back. The road player hung, practicing. Just before I had to leave (10 pm), a hopeful sweater was making calls. I suspect some serious action went down. There's some great variety of tables there: The 9'ers: 4" Diamonds, GC's, AMF's - buckets and thimbles, a color for every taste. A bunch of new awesome Diamond 7'ers too.

Action in your local poolhall-

I'm looking to put together a list of poolhalls across the USA and what if any action can be found there. I want to make this perfectly clear that I do not want any names of players or their speeds just the state, city, Name of hall, and what action if any can be found there. I'm not looking to knock anyones action or out any undercover champion. This is just a list that will give someone not familiar with the room an idea of what they can expect to find if they walk in the door on any given night. It is up to you how you use the information collected. If you go to a room based on the information collected here and get robbed don't blame me. I'll start it out with my local room.

Manchester, CT World Championship Billiards - not much action since Larry's passing but you can get some real cheap 9 ball or the rare cheap 1p. If your a road player coming through CT stop by but don't plan on getting any $500 sets or even $100 sets. If a road player is going to be in CT and wants to setup some action that can be done in advance.

Yea, Shane and all the others champions only get played by one, maybe two, people. $5-$5k- when has someone played for $5000?

More like $5-$500 at Shooters. There is no 5k action to be had in that place, lol. Also, the list of players who will play can be counted on one hand.

This was my last conversation in that bar;

Voo..."Permite el juego para quinientos dolares"

Unsuspected loser; "?No, permite la marca mil!!"

Voo..."Bueno, si usted insiste." :D

I was there recently and they told me that that john guy didn't come in much. What's up with that?

Very nice room. I have a daugther who lives in Pace, 9 miles from 9 Mile. Hope to see you on my next visit.

If there's no action at either place, it's because they are on the road at each others room squaring off. A lot of miles are put on between West Palm Beach and Hollywood. Amy's Billiards up in Stuart, Florida has quite a bit of action. A couple of my friends travel the 100 mile round trip quite frequently to handle the 'Bark Squad'. If anyone is interested, our ACS league is having their state championships in Bradenton, Florida (near Tampa) starting on 8/21 through 8/24. There will be quite a few A+ players looking to lock horns so come on down.

I'm with Uwate, all the action on the South East side of Florida is in Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood, FL. or at Victory Billiards in West Palm.

From what I hear on the South West side of Florida 'Diamond Billiards' in Ft. Myers is supposed to be like a great action spot too -- and aside from that just a really nice pool hall.
