Addicted to cues

For collection, I have a few Tads, and some Layanis, a few other cues such as Judd, Cognoscenti, JW, DPK...

For playing cues, I now play with a plain jane Layani cue, which I like very much.

Well, for jump and break cues, of course I am using the X Breaker :D

Price range wise, the X Breaker is made by our company. :D The other cues were mostly purchased a while ago and honestly, I cannot really remember.

Looking for another Sailor and putting an Ed Young on order.

What is it about cues anyway?

What is it about cues anyway that makes people go gaga? I love pool, but for some reason, I just don't love cues. I have a sigel-varner, joss, and a "sniper" (i think) jump cue.... All cues probably totalling < $500. It does the job. I'm more interested in learning to play better and the tip i'm using.

How many cues do you own and what are they and what is the price range?

Too many cues... Too much money... Too many cases... Too much space taken... Too many cues on order... Too much of an addiction ...
Crack would be cheaper, and easier to quit...

Too little time to list more of my cues...

Im with you dude but many people like cues more than they do pool. At my home room there is easily three times as much talk about cues than pool itself.

McDermott B-1
Josswest - 2
Richard Black
Joel Hercek - 2
Tim Scruggs
Jim White - 2
Jim Ingram
Ed Farris
JW Petree - 2
Mike Bender
Mike Capone
Coker
Schon (Runde era)

And, like Koop, on the list of Searing and Hercek. Tick-tock, tick-tock..... :D

Cue is an adddiction--there is always another cue which we want to try and then own. I know a lot of people, including myself, who cannot play a radio but own a lot of cues and are still buying.
Just as a car collector is not necessary a good driver, a cue collector does not necessary play well. As a matter of fact, most cue collectors that I have met are not very good players; nevertheless, they are usually very knowledgable on different aspects of different cues.
I enjoy meeting those who are obsessed with cues. It is fun to hear various stories and share our common passion on fine pool cues.

Oh man. You really stock up those cues... I see plenty of people with more than 10 cues.

I guess if you're a cuedealer, you need to have plenty of merchandise. But how many of you are collecting cues just because you love either the art or the characteristics of different cues ? I guess there are a few private collectors here and a few who intend to make a profit on dealing cues. Do you admit being just a dealer or just a collector ? Or perhaps a little bit of both ?

yep I'm addicted!

I own a custom 40 year old Palmer that was a 16th birthday gift from my uncle, a McDermott D16 (that is hopefully just temporarily missing in action ! it was given to Ted Harris to be restored and not returned as of yet ! more on that one later!)
A SAMSARA, 2 MALI's, 1 Fury, 1 Nick Varner !

You're right. It's an addiction & I definitely need
to dry out somewhere.

I think the only safe way is total withdrawal - sell everything but your favorite sneaky pete. Okay, Hondo - you can keep only your bright green cues :)

Cranegod, we love collectors like you - you do all the work locating cool cues, then occasionally make a few available to the rest of us! I bought my playing cue from you (Rauenzahn in link below).

Great seller and pleasant to deal with.

Don't you have any good sticks? LOL.

I'm addicted to cues...can't stop buying. I try to only buy from the cuemakers that I like. Though, I must say it's gotten better...probably my game stinks really badly right and just depressed. Plus, I think I need to trim down the amount of cues that I have.

Oops...the Valley Forge Expo is just around the corner. Here we go again...
