im the odd man out but I didnt care for the hit of this cue as much as a regular BB. I play with a BB most of the time(or a Gus that plays very similar) so I have a good understanding here.
Tony put alot of engeneering and time into devloping this cue, and yes its makes a few shots you would never think of shooting seem like hangers. It was truely amazing on certain shots. This cue is a big step fowards in cue devlopment.
Everyone here arguing about the price is missing the whole point, this cue is a prototype for a new generation of cues, and prototypes cost big $$$, Tony wasnt looking for a quick payday-he has pleanty of biz and isnt a $$$ kinda guy anyways. He is in persuit of taking less than perfect materials and making them perfect-no 2 pieces of wood are the same.
Most people love this cue that have been lucky enough to play with it. I played a couple sessions perhaps 4 hours with it and like I just said you can do some amazing things with it, inside english shots are much easier, there is almost no deflection. The cue goes through the ball(something the Mark Tad likes) better than most cues I have ever hit a ball with.
The reason I like my BB better than this cue is this cue is a bit front heavy with the steel joint and black wood, And the way the shaft is designed the shaft infront of my bridge is very light(reduced front end mass). So the whole weight distrubutiuon thing wasnt working for me-but thats just me. The quality of the cue is amazing, the percision of everything is the best there is. I could get used to it I suppose, but I didnt think it would bring the best out of me, my current Black boar and a Gus that was built for Ray Martin do. So I passed. However if anyone is luckey enough to play with the BB players cue is in for a treat.
