aj6788 Needs Help -- We need aj6788's Help!

Although fairly new to AZ (July 2009), AJ6788 (aka AJ, aka Hiccups, and Billiardsfreak in the chat) is jumping in with both or her well manicured-polished-feet. Well manicured in the sense that the folks at TJ's Classic Billiards (Watervlle, Maine), where she works, are nothing short of top notch -- as are the players there. Some of the haircuts of the players might be a bit suspect though (sorry "Spikey Mikey" Dechaine ). Anyway, back to AJ: She has been groomed well and they have turned her into somewhat of a dynamo in terms of wanting to promote our sport via the live stream.

TJ's has and will continue to host solid events -- so this is a perfect place to stream from -- another place we can watch and sweat (Pay Pal has gotta love AZers!). They have $tepped up to the plate yet again and put together an excellent streaming package. A test was run a couple of days ago and it was at worse EXCELLENT.

While streaming, AJ will have her well manicured fingers full whilst interacting with TJ's, TD, score/status runners, broadcaster, commentator(s), moderator(s), customers thereat, requests from the chat, etc., etc., etc. Anyone that streams can tell you that more goes on behind the scenes then is realized! She and the folks at TJ's want this to go as smoothly as possible and not lack what us maniacs need to get our fix. This want lies not with them, but with us -- the viewers and sweaters.

Let me cut to the chase here. AJ needs someone to put together and maintain brackets for some upcoming events -- The Joss Event this weekend, Maine Ladies State 9-Ball Championships Oct 10 + many more that are in the works. She, or more correctly "they", are seeking a marriage with AZ in this regard. They are realists and know that if anyone is going to succeed in getting things done right pool-wise -- it's AZ!

Sure, there will be things that go wrong during some of the first streams; however, with our input and help during the initial stages and their intestinal fortitude -- we will have yet another outstanding sweat site.

Someone jump in and PM AJ6788 and get this thing rocking. I'd do it but I will be moderating ("if" I get my honey-dos done ), posting updates, answering questions in the chat, researching for info, working with ustream, enabling important URLs, and most importantly "dropping the hammer" :smash: on anyone disrespecting the game, it's players, the site, or anyone within the chat. <Me don't play -- me want a positive imagine to prevail in our sport -- me want what you want ..... besides me ain't got no clue how to make or maintain dem-dare bracket thingys. Me would get darn right frustrated and throw dis here computer out-dah Hillbilly winder. [Sorry Charlie, couldn't help myself man -- you know I love yea]>

We have a new AZer in our midst who wants to do right by AZ and the game -- let's show her how we roll up in here. AZ, Samiel, anyone .... please step up -- and ASAP. She needs us, and from my viewpoint, we need her! She has been manicured so let's get her the polish for those body parts that are in need of same!

Wow, thanks Bob, that is really nice! I really appreciate you stepping up and helping me find help! I really will have a lot to do this weekend, including working! I am going to try my best and commentate, I don't know of anyone that is willing to help me with this either so I'm going to give it my all. I will be at the pool hall open to close. And I am unsure of how long open to close will actually be! On top of maintaining the stream to keep it going. I've given up using FME as it keeps freezing for me, so unfortunately now we will lack the quality we are use to and it may not be as pretty as some may want it to be. I still hope everyone will be ok with it! I really like that there are guys out there like you willing to help and find help if you can't do it yourself! I am very greatful to have met you online and I hope some day I can buy you a beer and I hope we both can have the hiccups! lol (Inside joke)

aaaahhhhhhh... You want brackets online for everyone to see..... I got it. Yeah, AZ has some bracket stuff. Holler at AZHousePro and see if he can help you out.

The brackets on AZBilliards are great, but it always bogs my computer down. It makes me open about 15 browser tabs at once so I can compare notes... :smile:

I'll do what I can. Won't be online much for the next week, though. We'll have the grandkids for a few days. They keep us pretty well occupied, when they're here.

Actually, I know someone I can check with on those brackets. If he's not overly busy right now, I bet he'd really like the challenge, too. I'll let you know what I find out.

I can't help you with the brackets but commentators are a dime a dozen. :grin:

Just ask a few of the local players if they would like to sit behind the mike and tell the viewers what is going on. There is sure to be some hidden talent in your pool room.

Sometimes, the best ones are the ones who have never seen a mike. :wink: You should be able to get all the help you need. Just tell the prospects that they can get all the soft drinks they can drink while doing commentary. Yeah, that ought to do it. :smile:

If the powers that be at TJ's ever want JoeyA to commentate -- you better get his definition of how much a "dime" is! Me thinks it's a bit more than ten of those little brown coins with pics of Abe on 'em! There are thousand here that would say: "He's worth it". Would I be among those you ask? Well, if TJ's is footing the bill .... tssssk. I'd tune in with Bailey's & Coffee in hand sporting a brand new set of headphones -- while still in my PJs of course. I'd even moderate for half of a JoeyA definition of a "dime" .

VCR with a condom in a bar and a sound board with tooth picks
but these are NPR stories ....well the bar had a table so there :grin:
Guess what I'm saying is people wanna chance to do something fun and new
but when it turns into work then things change .Most of the time by the
time I get everything set up I have at least 3 people asking to do commentary .
Joey some musicians say drummers are a dime a dozen too
but let's see Rush replace Neal Pert for a dime
AJ, Ray can fill in alot of holes on this I'm sure .Also if you are like me it's easier
to learn if you can actually see someone do it .Don't look at it like my wire picture
and let it whop ya . Maybe this link will help and there is alot of how to on you

Aj,

Ray can be faster then a fart in a stiff wind. He's so fast that one time he ran that Roadrunner cartoon critter over with his truck -----> flattened it like a waffle he did. He took it over to his friend Cuephoric's house in hopes to gain some bragging rights. Cuephoric is not one to take that lying down -- he is an AZer after all! Cuephoric took that "foul fowl" down to his favorite Waffle House, told them to hold it until his friend arrived, --yep, Ray -- and serve it up. Ray did not like what he saw coming out of the kitchen waffle-wise and decided to have something else. He still thinks the "B" in BLT meant Bacon instead of Bird. You'd think picking feathers out of his teeth for an hour would have wised him up; but, noooooooo, not our Ray.

AJ, you really need to know something before working with Ray. He is not the sharpest tool in the box; but, he is definitely a tool!

Seriously AJ, Ray is right except for the need to change the word "should" to "will"! He is a doer and will make your streaming life a lot easier. Take what he says to heart and you won't regret it!

Having the brackets online on AZBilliards.com is fairly easy, but the only person who can set it up is Mike Howerton at AZB (housepro). But it sounds like you have already contacted him so the right ball is already rolling!

Thanks Trig. There several right balls rolling in this one of which the PM to Mike is one as you said ... among others it's peeps like you who are always there when a call for help echoes through the threads of AZ.

I do have a question for you though Melinda. Why is it that when I'm a Mod "somewhere" it means Moderator whereas in your case it means Model .... and is it Model like in example setting (as you've done here checking on a cry for help), or Model like in <insert wolf whistle here>?

I'm with Bigtruck about not giving up on FME. Stick with it and contact him as he suggests, he should be able to help you get the settings right to match your internet service.

Good luck and thanks for what you are trying to do for the sport.
