Hard to believe AZ has changed so much. JoeyA posts a question with the possibility of a great match to watch and somehow that gets turned into he is a Shane nuthugger. So none of you would watch SVB vs Albin fight night match??? I would be first in line.
Except a tournament requires winning 8 or so sprints in a row against other sprinters while the gambler needs only win one long marathon against one other runner.
You have to win a lot of matches over multiple days to win the World 9-ball Championship, it is not one little sprint.
It is funny because marathon runner SVB basically said he ran out of gas at the end against so called "sprinter" Albin in his post after the match. Winning an event like that is a huge grind of constant long term pressure, it is no sprint and I am sure SVB would say the same.
Albin just won World 9 ball showcasing to the world but he still has to showcase his skills in some gambling match
That only makes Shane look bad and look like sore loser coming so soon after his loss.
True.
Silly really cos these people are only magnifying the loss and making Shane look like sore loser. What Shane wants now is time off and go fishing to forget this ordeal![]()
thanks for the reply joeySure, I don't mind answering your questions. I suppose your questions are natural without any hidden agenda.
I have come to really enjoy watching the one-on-one tournament gambling matches, called "FIGHT NIGHT" that www.PoolActionTv has made popular.
Albin is not particularly well-known here in the U.S.A. His sister is probably better known than he is, at least on this continent.
IF Albin gambles, I think it would be a great attraction for those of us who enjoy those one-on-one matches and a great way to introduce him to that audience.
IF Albin doesn't gamble, then it doesn't mean anything to me (negative or positive) and simply answers a question for me. If the answer is no, then I can just put that thought to sleep.
A pool-playing man or woman doesn't have to gamble to have value in my eyes. But if they do gamble, I would like to support finding him or her an appropriate match to showcase his skills.

Corpse,
AZ hasn't changed all that much.
People continue to have and share different perspectives.
I think some of the whiners in this thread just don't like gambling and so they see my question as some kind of an affront to them because of their position but it's really just curiosity on my part.
But YES, I would love to see Albin gamble with Shane BUT ONLY IF ALBIN gambles. If he doesn't gamble, no problem.
Now as for that Karl Boyes guy....

This thread is 4 days old, and it looks to me like you're still ignoring the suggestions made by the so called "whiners"
https://www.facebook.com/albin.ouschan?fref=ts
If you really care that much, you can message him and ask him.
27 million points for jaycast16!!!!!just curious, why everytime Shane loses people here will start a thread asking if the opponent would play him long race and higher stake? It is also the same people saying Shane has nothing to prove as he is already a World class player.I like Shane and I think a thread like this show a disrespect to him.i might just mis interpreting the post but Shane don't have to gamble with Albin.
Yeah... but this was really just another "yeah but SVB would beat him for the dough" thread and most people know that despite the attempts to claim otherwise.
Joey probably just does not want to disrespect Albin right to his face"book" and would rather just beat his drum about SVB being the favorite for the cash here.

For Joey,
He does not gamble for big money. He might play some sets for 500-1000 for the purpose of playing pool seriously, not to win his next meal.
That's what they do in Europe.
For others who wonder "how can he pay his bills without gambling?"
Well his goverment pay him a salary for being high level athelete.
He has a pretigious pool school with Jasmin.
He has a bunch of sponsors (even a car dealer is one of his sponsors)
How did he get to this level and win?
Working out to improve his stamina
Practice like crazy (freaking real practices)
Mental training
A lot of tournments playing
Shane admitted he ran out of gas at the end. Ever seen Shane being tired in a gambling match?
Hey, maybe tournament is an even tougher marathon than gambling.

HelloBaby!
THIS!
Thank you for your reply. I wasn't sure if Albin gambled or not. I'm glad you answered that. So the answer is that he does but not for big money, nor to win his next meal.
I like that and respect that entirely. I don't know why I thought that he might gamble. To me $500- $1000 sets or Euro is a very nice bet.
You could easily be right about the tournaments being more of a marathon than gambling. I know when I play in the Semi-annual White Diamonds $100,000.00 weekend bar table tournament, I feel like I was driven to exhaustion no matter how much exercise and rest I get before the event.
Thanks for the reply! I knew someone on here knew what's up.

You welcome.
Nothing is definite though.
I see no reason why he should refuse a challenge match or an offer from a backer (John French excluded lol) to come and play for free and get 30% of the cheese like other so-call gambler-with-others'-money kind of players.
One thing I'm pretty sure he's not gonna come and ask around for a backer though. His life is perfect, quoted his words. Why bothers.

You act like Shane isn't the favorite in every way in every game...
HelloBaby,
I wonder if the live stream audience would welcome 500-1000 dollar matches with multiple players, competing from all over the world?
I also wonder if the European players in general would welcome an opportunity to compete one on one against America's best players. You suggest that Albin might consider playing for 30% of the wager. Do you think most European players would consider doing the same?
What discipline and what kind of races or ahead sets do you think would be attractive to them and the live stream audience. (johnnyt chime in please. I know you have been disenchanted with the supposed lack of authenticity in the match wagers in some matches of the past, others welcome too.)
Since travel costs are so high perhaps, these type of live stream events could be contracted before or after other USA events.
Thanks again for the feedback. It's always nice to hear the opinions of others on the other side of the pond and from those who aren't just whining about those of us who enjoy seeing interest in our sport.
