Alcano and Raga banned from Sharks events

I didn't see anything other than two guys trying to win the game. Raga got careless playing shape on the nine ball, which was easy to do since it looked like anywhere on the table would be fine. He was just trying to get a little too close and it backfired. Nothing sinister about any of this! The only one who should be banned is the OP.

In fairness to the OP, Sharks is the one who posted on FB, but clearly the OP didn't watch before they posted.

Watching the video, my first thought wouldn't be that the fix was in. The fact that they banned them and publicly posted it on fb would lead me to believe that they're going on more than just this video evidence.

My only question is what was at stake?

Pretty sure this is all they had to go by and the announcers comments - which don't mean shit

It looks like this was some sort of round robin handicapped event of the top 10 Fillipinos, I'm guessing after watching the game in question and then the leaderboard displayed immediately afterwards. Alcano was already in the lead, and Raga was far down the list. Maybe whoever is making the accusation thinks that Raga dumped the game so that Alcano can have a bigger lead over the next player? Anything is possible, but this whole event seemed like a fun exhibition and all the players probably got a few bucks for showing up. I doubt any funny business went on. Either the person making the accusation is jumping to conclusions over that bad shot, or, he saw money change hands from Alcano to Raga.

Only the guilty know for sure.

i would guess there is some side betting going on given that these matches are broadcasted live to a nation of gambling addicts

Like in England????? The Brits are more addicted to gambling than anyone on earth. Bookie joints everywhere.

Looks like Shark's has pulled their statement regarding this. They caught a ton of heat from viewers. Neither Raga or Ronnie did a thing wrong. Sharks should issue a public apology imo.

Words of wisdom regarding side betting from Race Track Rick. 😉
"If you are not in on it, don't bet."
