dave sutton said:meduim speed. like a slap break. SVB broke a ton of balls in. only 1 dry i remember.
wing balls dont go with a monster break.
I was there too and I think you're exaggerating. Shane was the crowd's favorite but if there was clapping when Ronnie broke dry it was very minimal.dave sutton said:ill tell you onw thig. in the 8 years i been going ive never seen a match so one sided. i dont think one oerson in the crowd wanted ronnie to win. when he came up dry on the break ppl were clapping

There was a share of Filipinos there certainly cheering for Ronnie.
Hierovision said:Definitely exaggerated. Ronnie got almost as much applause. Anytime anybody got close to winning the crowd went wild (like when Ronnie sent Efren over)... it was much more wild when Shane got on the 9 ball for the event win, because it was the event win.
Then watch the WPC Championship for last year. Same thing, but FOR Ronny not against him.dave sutton said:ill tell you onw thig. in the 8 years i been going ive never seen a match so one sided. i dont think one oerson in the crowd wanted ronnie to win. when he came up dry on the break ppl were clapping
they both were real players. it was one of the best finals ive seen in a long time. most years the players are scared to death and the last 5 or 6 balls are a fight. these guys just ran out like it was practice. when gabe won it took him 5 mins to run 5 balls. shane with a smile on his face just played.
these 2 will be a force in pool for a long time
I sat very close to Ronnie Alcano in the finals at the US Open and he checked most of the racks and they must have been OK or he wouldn't have broke the balls. He did mumble under his breath a couple of times "nice rack" when he came up dry on the break. The break in 9 ball is big, but it's the same for each player with a neutral racker. If he didn't like the rack all he had to do was request a re-rack so saying the rack was bad was Ronnie's fault and no one else's.ledrums said:Alcano is a great player, but c'mon, Shane beat him twice in the tourney and to suggest anything fishy was going on is poor sportsmanship. If you think a rack is bad, go and check it for gaps and such. My two cents
