hey! the predator website now says it's 6-4 bustamante over corteza...

what's the url for the bustamante-corteza match, i wonder.....

The feature match had Drago beating Alex at hill-hiil (10 - 10) race to 11.
J. Jones wins over Tyler Edey.
Busta wins over Van DeCorteza.
Chamat wins over Shane Van B.

The thing about the Alex/Drago match-towards the end Alex would seem perplexed by hangers. One of them he missed was a 3 foot slight angle shot w the OB a foot from the hole that he missed pretty badly. Also Alex by all accounts made a good hit on a ball 6? and handed Tony BIH anyway.

Tony played some very good safeties tonight especially the long distance separate the balls type of safeties. I was impressed.

Im not sure that Drago can win it tomorrow but if he plays JJ, i will predict he wins that match. It will be too demoralizing for him to see TD running out in no time while he struggles and strains through simpler racks. JOIO.

Interesting group in the semi-finals. There are some surprises, but each one of them is very deserving to have made it this far in such a strong field.

I am wondering if there will be a shot clock for the semi-finals. Does anybody know?

That can be implemented now that the fireld is small - compared to the WPBA or IPT, the staff didn't have volunteers to clock each of the 8 tables. The TD had to ref all of the tables, was hardly seen and only one table at a time seemed to have a clock on it, though more should have. Drago didn't need one but Tyler did.

I hope that Charlie and Co. make money so tht they can have bigger and more screens to show the folks the running scores.

The cost of admission is going up so should the amenities. The seating for the general admission seats were too low and the back rows had to stand and the attendance fell off for moast didn't or couldn't dish out $50.00 for VIP for both sessions vs. $10.00 for each of 2 sessions for general.

It costs 10 bucks for each session? That would mean if somebody wanted to watch two or three sessions each day, it would be $20 or $30. I don't know if that is a fair price or not. When I go to Camden yards for an Orioles game, it costs me about 20 bucks a ticket, but I'm there all day long.

What costs the most monies at other sporting events is the $5 hot dogs and $8 beer and $4 bottles of water. :mad:

Most likely, the average viewer ain't going to watch two or three sessions each day, with all of the other pool activities going on, to include the usual Vegas distractions.

I hope they make money, so that they can keep on moving upward. It is nice to have the online matches, though they need to overcome some technical difficulties, but those are free which is always nice! :D

I'm not sure what the VIP is like for $50, as I've never been to a pool VIP.

Doesn't the AzBilliards have a skybox that is free for AzB-ers? That's where I'd be hanging out if I were there! :p

It costs about $6000 to put assembled, raised stadium seating into the Riviera to seat 400, including a raised first row -- so they can see over the VIP seats -- and cushions on the seats. It is quite an expense, but if you want to let the audience see the event, it is necessary. I think the "conference chairs on a few risers" arrangement that was being used for the nine ball tournament is done free by the Riviera staff unless their policy has changed since 2001. I assume the 10-ball seating is similar.

Usually the only difference with the VIP area is that you get to sit a good bit closer to the players. I've been in VIP seating areas where I was only say 5-6 feet away from the players.

Sometimes you can't get as good a view of the angles that close, but I know I've learned a lot from being close up. You get a better sense of how they cue the ball this way.
