Alex P vs Mick Hill in the Finals of a Chinese table 9 ball tournament

I also think the Chinese general public might even be more interested.
The general public here are pretty interested.
As it is now, Heyball and this version of 9 ball is only gathering some international fan attention due to the high prize money. It's still boring. I don't think many are watching.
Many millions watch it, and people here tune in throughout the day, mostly through re-streams on Douyin or WeChat (It reminds me a bit of when I was a kid and my family would leave snooker matches on the telly all day whilst doing other stuff growing up)

to answer your question, the person who cares is who wins $700,000.

if that much money doesn’t matter to you, enjoy your retirement.

your dislike/hatred/constant commenting about this game is well documented.
feel free to put me on Ignore 'cause it ain't gonna stop. i couldn't care less what it pays, its brutally boring to watch. i'm far from the only one that feels this way.

Tables look alright, Dynaspheres are nice and the right colour, the cues are a players preference

I quite like the colored differentiation to show ranking (a bit like the purple and orange caps in some t20 cricket tournaments to show highest run getter or wicket taker), and then the standard shirt. they don't look awful, but could look better.

The arena is a bit like China open, so there's two or three areas, and I don't think they all match up. The MainStage is awesome, but they need to make it more available to be filled with people... It seems only players who are out, and players invite have been the crowd so far.

Had a lot of friends play and attend this event. I'm too busy working like a slave to make my way there. Same goes for a tournament near HZ soon with a 3million RMB 1st place. Only people who already have money and time to spare can make more money playing pool....
ugly af
all of it

thats china for ya, surprised you even have access to the internet
other than the government internet

Makes sense because Rasson's are gaffy if not fresh or set up perfect.
I hope Rasson has changed the side pocket cuts. I played some on an early version, and it had, hands down, the WORST side pocket cut I have ever experienced in all my years of cue sports. It spat out good shots left and right. I was daydreaming about Olhausens while playing on it, that's how bad it was. The corners were ok, not great but I wouldn't have complained about them, but the sides, OMG the sides... I don't mind playing on tight pockets, in fact I've played mostly on tight pockets in all cue sports, but they have to be fair and well designed.

The Chinese 8 ball tables are tight, but fair and well designed for what they are. If you hit the shot well, it will generally go in, even with speed. The rails play consistently and the slate is generally very thick, so the balls roll long and true. The cloth they use is wonderful, so long as it is new. I really think a lot of people would be pleasantly surprised at how well the tables play, if they gave them a chance. I still prefer American tables for American pool, but these tables are not bad by any means.

The OX i hit balls on was probably a '19-'20 model. Played fine to me. didn't notice any pocket 'gaffiness'.

Find the sides tough but fair where I play. If you have any questions specifically about the tables, I can ask directly.

Agree with you. The major table brands all maintain a set standard.

BTW< question because it's something I wondered before but have not thought about until this popped up in my feed. How much different is the snooker cloth compared to pool cloth like Simonis?

I know the pockets are tight as all hell, especially since they are shooting with american sized pool balls. But it feels like the non-chinese 8 ball players are somewhat struggling more. Is it the cloth that is adding an extra factor to it?

the current top end cloths used both in Snooker and Chinese pool are superior playing to Simonis,
they are grippier, less skids, more control

some down sides, they still technically have a nap and may require ironing / more maintenance
