Near the end of the TAR Alex/Bustamante 10 ball match Alex was frozen to rail, straight-in, all jacked up almost vertical, trying to draw back to where he started..sort of a Mike Massey, Corey Duel sort of thing....

He completely miscued.

He started doing maintenance on his tip.

Any body know what he was using? Who makes it?

Looked flat, black, about size of a postcard, maybe 1/4 inch thick- One end had a flat file type surface-reminded me of the Kamui mini-stainless steel fine file, -other gizmos on the rest of it??? I didn't see the other end that was in his hand.

Reminded me of something similar I have seen some 3c players using to dress up tips during matches.

Anyone familiar with this tool?

I agree with Double-Dave, it sounds like the Mezz Tip Tool

The 3-C thing is close to just gluing sandpaper to a small piece of thin plywood. Sometimes there are fine/coarse sides.

to me it looked like a tip toll a friend has made by tiger. It is a just like a huge gator grip with a dime and nickel radius in the middle

Thanks guys. It did look like the Tiger version mentioned here. The shaping/'file' business end did take up most of the area of the end in use, that I could see.

Wonder how you clean the file if/when it loads up with tip material?
