Alison Fisher gets demoed by an 18 year old....

First off there is a bias with some of the posters on az. I dont really have a problem with it, it just gets old sometimes that every time a well known player loses to a women its post-worthy..... The top 10 or 20 women are really good, I have always said that. I can attest, see I play in tournaments , big tournaments against men and women, I have lost to Yu Ram Cha the last 2 or 3 times we have played. I got drilled by Karen Corr 9-1 at turning stone and it was like sick she made the corner ball every time and ran out.... and I have also drilled my fair share as well.

So what , its a tourney anyone that can run out can win.....thats real talk.

Lets start treating women the same as men, you say you want fairness and for them to be able to enter every event that a man can...... ok what event can I enter that they cannot???????? none they can enter all events men can

Why dont women enter the seminole events? i can think of only helena , monica, yu ram and vivian playin in one or 2 of these in the last 4 or 5 years.... But when they offered a bonus of 2500 to the highest finishing woman a whole bunch entered.......lets be fair not unfair

Im not putting anyone down but dont bark about making a game with kelly fisher or anyone else unless you are personally involved. Cuz I will play ANYONE if the game is right

Bonuses for highest finishing woman are unfair. No argument there.

To be clear "we" on here who wish to see the women do well are not trumpeting every time a woman wins a match. We did not start this thread. Otherwise it would be well known that Karen waxed you 9:1.

Here you go James, if you make any game with Kelly Fisher's backer to match you up with Kelly then I will personally double your bet. Whatever you bet with them will be matched by me.

ANYONE will play if the game is "right". I already told you and everyone else here that Kelly has a backer and if you REALLY want to play then get a hold of him. I am not mentioning his name on here but he's well known around Charlotte and easy to find. I guarantee you that he will try to match you all up.

It's great that YOU think that the top 20 women are really good and your perspective counts for more than most because you are willing to get in the box. It's the people who make sexist comments like the post that started this thread which are uncalled for. Maybe people think that those comments are in fun and that they don't cut but they do.

To me I see nothing wrong with offering support to any player male or female. We offer plenty of attaboys and attagirls to all players we like who win.

Until this year the US Open was barred to women. All UPA events are barred to women unless they receive a special invite. If I am not mistaken the 14.1 is invite only for women.

Scheduling, travel? It's a good point that you raise here. If shortstops can come from all over to play then so can the women.

However I can only speak for Kelly Fisher here and tell you that her schedule is generally pretty full.

I am sure that if the Seminole tour was farther north with some events then you'd see more women from up north playing in them.

Even Efren. Especially in tournament play. I mean these guys exemplify the expression "never miss".

I feel that any pro can beat any other pro in any given tournament match. Sure, rolls go a certain way, a few key misses here and there, etc....

Which is why I said 50/50 or flipping a coin - no one's got a better chance than that to win against Ko Pin Yi on average.

I mean Ko Pin Yi could get name-stung and lose to Efren because of that but I think his 11 pack on Orcullo in the finals goes a long way towards showing that he is pretty seasoned already.

I think its the other way around. He can't out shoot Efren. There isn't a living man under 60 that can out move efren. And he sure can't out think Efren so I don't see how it is that Efren is at best even money in any discipline.

For it to be remotely correct, (16 yr old kid having edge) he would have to have a better string package than efren. Despite putting 11 together is this true? He still dose not string em as often as Efren.

I still like me on my favorite table.

Why would you think he can't out shoot Efren? Efren's not invincible. Ralf Souquet has a winning record against Efren in head to head tournament matches.

Yes, it's true, Ko Pin Yi was down against Orcullo in the finals and he ran 11 racks to close out the match and win the event.

I also never said "any discipline". The Taiwanese don't play one pocket. However I am sure that they can pick it up really quickly.

Ko Pin Yi was brought up amongst champions he is one of the ones that emerged as the best and brightest among his generation.

He is as strong a nine or ten ball player as it gets. If he plays Efren or anyone else it's flipping a coin at best.

Yes you specified "compitition" pool. And that Anyone, at best, is break even against this kid, in this discipline.

Moving is not just one pocket.

Charlie Williams destroys Alex when they meet, dosen't mean anything. Just means Charlie is a very methodical player and Alex can't beat these guys.

He can't out shoot efren because Efren has been pocketing balls the right way for longer than the kid has been alive.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I forget sometimes that some people are not very informed as to what games are most popular. I bet it would shock you if I said that most mediocre one pocket players would DESTROY most Filipino players at one pocket.

I should have specified ten ball, 9 ball and probably 8 ball. I understand now that I should have been very specific to exclude one pocket, bonus ball, 7 ball, rotation, banks, last pocket 8 ball, back pocket nine ball, 14.1 etc..... My apologies for causing such confusion.

You're right no one can beat Efren. Efren holds the most world titles, the most US Open titles, the most Derby City 9 ball titles, the most Japan Open titles, he has won more events than Sigel, Hall, and Strickland combined. When Efren shows up every one else should just quit.

I know nothing about pool and can't clock a player at all. I bow to your obviously superior knowledge and beg your forgiveness.

I am right about the World Championships and US Opens and Japan Opens aren't I??? Terry Ardeno, what does the record show?

Edit: Aw damn, I went and apologized and really this is EXACTLY what I said. "Frankly there isn't any American that wants a piece of this kid - maybe SVB, maybe Dennis Hatch, but no matter WHO plays him no one has better than a 50/50 chance to win."

Why can't people just hit the freaking link and go LOOK IT UP when they are IN A THREAD and want to tell someone WHAT THEY SAID?

So, Searcy, LIKE I SAID, I didn't SPECIFY any particular games.

Will the real Alison Fisher stand up

Please check out the Alison Fisher spelling vs Alley(Allison Fisher). Alison is an amateur league Player currently living in NY. She was named the Hottie from the Derby, few yrs ago. And Alley Fisher is much older and a pro,ex snooker player. You guys are talking about 2 totally different people. mark

Sorry JB, but what is back pocket nine ball?

Nevermind. cmbwsu was kind enough to send me a 'let me google that for you' link, which was pretty amusing.

Looks like I couged that one.

well i have no idea who her backer is, but with a spot i would play.
maybe on tar or something, find out what she gives and let me know ,it might be fun

I was never confused about the game you are trying to specify. But If you want to believe that I was, I'll be confused for you....

ko can't beat efren at one pocket!

so does kelly wanna give me the last 3 or 12 on the wire a race to 100 for 10k? I know people like to run there mouth on here but it seems this thread kinda died after I said I would play

I think the thread might have died because we were dieing laughing at someone that says women have no chance in long sets agaist men and then you look for a healthy spot against one. Johnnyt

well she is a professional pool player and Im not, she travels all over the world and I do not. I feel like that is worth the last 2 and since I would be goin to her town and playing under her conditions that is worth a ball.

If anyone thinks Im out of line just say so, but I think I laid out my thinking and how I arrived at the spot I said

Of course I live in the tampa area and if you ever wanna get out from behind your keyboard Johnny Im sure you could get a healthy spot from me on a 9 ft diamond playing a little 10 rock

I sat right in front of Corry's table and watched the entire match with him and Ga. Well to be honest I was watching Ga. ;) Congrats to her she won the set. 9-7 I think. Corry's break sucked bad, he scratched 2 or 3 times on the break, he never once had a break and run that I remember, he missed two 5balls & one 8ball straight in the pocket. For him it was embarrassing the way he played. But make no mistake about it for the cash playing 9ball say 12 ahead for 5K he could give her the 7ball and it would be a total heist. IMO of course.

Was he stubornly sticking to soft breaking the whole time? IMO he would be a drastically bigger threat in the pool world if he would finally drop the soft break and go back to breaking hard and running racks. If you want to tweak a specialized break I think SVB has shown a practiced and trained hard break will lead to better results then the soft break. Corey in his younger years before he started messing around with soft breaks had a spedgehammer of a break and if he had put his time into honing that into a weapon comparable to what SVB's break now is IMO Corey would be right there with SVB at the top of the world.

How many decades will a player stick to something that does not work? ATM Corey seems to be content to make it his whole career after years and years of absence from the top echelon when he was the brightest rising star in the USA in his early 20's.

Oh, I'm sorry to all the grammar nazi's out there lol. If there's anything else I could fix for you please let me know. I like to make everyones stay in my topic as comfortable as possible lol

The word "nazi's" should not have an apostrophe in it, since it's not a possessive pronoun, but rather just the plural form of the noun nazi.

I can't believe this thread. And I'm a man.

Replace the assertion about women with "Jews" or "Blacks", i.e. "I bet no Jew or Black will make it pass the first round" and the poster would very likely banned from these forums.

And it would be deserved. So why exactly is it apparently acceptable to say the same thing about women?

If the OP thinks he can play better than the brilliant women players he is sneering at, by all means challenge them and see how you do :)

With attitudes like this, it's no wonder there are so few women in pool.

Seriously? You do realize that by design men are bigger, faster, stronger, and seem to have many other skills. It is not a sexist remark. It is factual. That does not mean that women can't play pool. I have had my rear end booted many times by women, and for that matter women pool players. BUT outside of the occasional victory, woman cannot compete with men in athletics. Same rules, same game, same equipment. Men win 98% of the time.

With attitudes like this, it's no wonder there are so few women in pool.

This statement is incredibly childish.

Seriously. And of course I am aware of those facts. Where did I deny them? But that wasn't the OP's argument, as far as I can see.

BUT outside of the occasional victory, woman cannot compete with men in athletics. Same rules, same game, same equipment. Men win 98% of the time.

Are we talking about athletics? I thought we were talking about pool, where physical differences between the sexes matter very little, or not at all.

With attitudes like this, it's no wonder there are so few women in pool.

I disagree. But you're entitled to your opinion. But I would ask whether spouting off a view that men are so superior to women, and rubbing their noses in their inferiority in many sports compared to men, is really going to encourage more women into the game? I'd say the glass is half empty on that one.

But I'll tell you what is childish: attacking public figures who have no opportunity to defend themselves; gloating publicly about other players' defeats; making sweeping generalizations about an entire gender based on a small sample; and doing it from a self-assumed (but illusory) position of superiority.
I'd wager on the OP losing to every one of the women he attacks.
