Alright all you guys!

I've started a thread in the main forum titled "Before & After". The reason for this thread is to open the door for a lot of you to have an area in the main forum to give you more credit for the work you do. This thread I started has NOTHING to do with hack work, has nothing to do with delivering and setting up a table. It's not a place I'd post pictures of using a 70' crane to lift Diamond tables over a tall building. And not a tread to show how you set a table up. Think about it, it's a "before & after" thread. Josh, it's a good place to show the before pictures of that Diamond table you worked on with the beaver cut cushions, then the "after" is what your work looked like after you fixed them. This tread is also not about pointing fingers, placing blame, or anything else, it's about YOU, and what you can do as a mechanic, YOUR work:D It's about informing people as to what's right, and what's wrong with work being done today, I don't even care if it's the "before & after" work of at least doing pockets right;)

I really want to keep this thread up front in the main forum, so here's your chance guys, do it right:D

I'll b e joining after me hand heals had 2 major accident with me right hand. Ecxellent work Glenn Nice to see a new twist on rebuilds while on sight with less travel time.

Great idea, Glen. I've said in several conversations that the hardest part of what we are trying to accomplish as a group of mechanics is to re-educate the general public on what to expect in terms of service quality. Right now unfortunately, I think most of their "education" is coming from salesmen and dealers. I think we'd all agree that the information these people give is biased at best and sometimes just downright misleading. Showing the general AZ public our worth is a great first step towards making the general public aware of what they should expect.

That's the reason behind the start of that post. You don't have to show hack work....to show it as in how bad this industry is. But, by showing the before and after pictures, you ARE showing the hack work, but at the same time, you're showing how QUALIFIED you are to fix it, that's the importance of the "before & after" work. It's a major step in starting to educate the public of what's not quit right about their pool tables....and why;)

As a member of the main forum and a lurker of this one.... Glen is right, the main forum is ready for a thread like "Before and after". The initial thread had a lot of positive responses and the guys over there loved the pics. Glen good luck on the never ending pursuit of the perfect mechanic and table. You are part of a great army over here and most of you guys are doing great things.

Cable not tables.......When my right hand heals I will have a few in 2 more weeks should be good. Other then that I'm the left handed cable guy and it is weird not tobe able to use my right hand.

Come on guys, I'm sure some of you have some before & after pictures to post;)

When I can I'll start adding to the thread. I have a ton of pics and vids, before during and after in all stages of progress. But no way to put them online yet until I can get stationary with the cameras and a large hard drive lol

I like the idea behind the thread- time for people to see the difference, not just the results. Good call

Just reminding you guys that if you have some before & after pictures that help show your skills, the thread I started in the main forum is titled "before & after" and that thread is for you all you guys as well. We have to start doing more to inform the public as to what good craftsmanship is all about, and this is a good way of showing them.:D

You did a good job on your I think first, home made pool table, my hats off to you sir:D what I'm looking for is the before & after "fix" of pool tables, that is what really shows what a mechanic can do. Setting up tables, and simple recoveries is more box store everyday kind of work, that's the kind of work everyone's use to seeing. What they're not use to seeing is how bad someone can do something, yet another mechanic can come along and fix it, THAT is what tells a story to the readers...to the point of thinking...why didn't the last mechanic do it right in the first place...hmmmmm? From there, we'll build off of that thread and start educating the readers in the main forum...until they start paying attention to the work being done on their OWN tables....and start asking questions...which WILL surprise some of the mechanics out here;) making it harder and harder to find them "victims"...I mean customers:D

Just a reminder guys, show case your "before & after" work in the thread I started in the main forum, it's YOUR chance to show what you can really do, as the main forum is the most viewed section on AZ. You don't have to showcase anything if you don't want to, but I'm trying to keep that door open to all you guys so you get a chance to if you feel like showing off your talents a little:D
