Alot has been said about different players matching up on here. Obviously, the main problem with this is the money. What I would like to know is if the members here would consider funding an "AZBilliards Dream Match-up"?
I consider this could work a couple ways which could be discussed further, but my initial idea would be for all AZB members that wish to participate to pre-pay for the DVD set, say $100. Per previous posts by TAR the two players generally receive 25% each of the DVD net profits. I have no idea what TARs profit margin is, but they could be directly involved in determining a minimum $ figure prior to the voting. This could even be a winner-take-all loooong ring game, it could be any game.
The agreement could then be made that trip expenses would be covered for the players and that one of them would recieve the full 50%. If enough DVDs were pre-purchased this could ensure the winning player a reasonable amount of cash without any actual backer needed. The player would in essence be playing on his own money (the 25% of DVD profits).
I am not trying to step into TAR's business, actually to promote it. Let's see how many people would pre-purchase to see the AZB Match to be voted on by members here?
P.S. This could make the Barbox Legends match-up a reality, or New School v. Old School, or any number of previously mentioned matches here on AZB.
