Andy Gilbert Player Special

Here is a great 2002 Andy Gilbert players cue:
6 Ebony points into some nicely figured BEM (all points are razor sharp)
Black leather, lizard texture wrap
NICE looking old dark brown phenolic joint collars and butt cap
2 Very well Seasoned shafts that have longer tapers, about 13 inches and both shafts are around 12.7
Balance point is between 18.5 and 19 inches from butt.
This cue HAS a weight bolt which weighs 2.20 oz, so this cue could pretty much be adjusted to whatever weight you want.
Butt weight is 15.83oz with weight bolt.
19.46 oz w/ weight bolt and shaft 1 (looks like a triangle tip)
19.61 oz w/ weight bolt and shaft 2 (Dudley Tip)
3/8-10

Only marks on cue are 3 small finish bubbles on joint collars (see photo), 1 small dent on butt (barely noticeable, not through finish) and finish wear at very bottom of butt cap around the bumper (also not visable by photographs)

Even though the taper on this cue is longer, the hit is firm and far from what I would consider whippy. Its got a really nice hit, I've just decided to sell it because its heavier than what I like to play with and also I need to pay off some bills.

Sugie i remember how happy you were when you first got this cue. hope you change your mind and keep it. i think it suited you

Does the butt have a weight pin in it that is able to take out? or is it SET in there / just wood??? ( too heavy for me but in love with the CUE!!!) please respond ASAP

I know this is a great player! I wanted it when I first saw it on AZ! Too bad I'm not in a cue-buying position and it would just sit in a case anyway I guess, since I shoot with my own....but man this has got to be a great player!!

yeah, thanks fellas.

Im about 90 percent certain theres a weight screw in the butt of the cue, but Im gonna check tomorrow and try to figure out how much weight can be taken off. I'll let you know asap.

If I didnt need the money and I can make it lighter this cue would def be my daily player. it has a very good feel to the hit.

there is definitely a weight pin in this cue! I took of the bumper off last night and there looks like another big pin in the butt, but I dont have a big enough allen to take it out. stand by

I just took out the weight bolt and the cues weighs 16.9oz with shaft 1. I think I might cut the bolt down and keep playing with this cue if I dont get any offers.

You can pretty much make this cue any weight you want!

not a bad plan. you might want to see if maybe you can get an aluminum bolt before you cut the one you already have. you don't want to cut off too much and be stuck with it too light.

bump for one of the coolest guys on az!

You can probably buy some set screws or something similar to adjust the weight little by little.

say that again bro

bump me up man, I would be down to hear trade offers for a cog or a MG/Samsara break cue or possibly a BK2 plus cash.

I can't afford to even look hard at your cue - it is nice! You might regret it if you sell it - hopefully you can find a lighter bolt. Cutting the existing one off should be pretty easy too though...

Good Luck!

bes

someone, anyone got a cog, hunter, chudy or samsara gullasy jb for trade??
of course Im also open to cash.
BUMP

I was talking with a friend the other day about the quality and craftsmanship of Andy Gilbert's cues. Absolute beauty. Wish I could afford it. Looks like a cue deserving of a good home. Best of luck with your sale... that is a knock out price for how good that cues looks and I'm sure plays.
Hope you come to your senses and keep it for that low of a price.
