Get over it, T.
I like this thread.
Every so often someone poses the really obvious question on this board, "does alcohol hurt your pool ability?", or something similar.
What generally follows are a few serious comments, pro & con, and lots and lots of jokes.
This post by "T" makes the point well. His ability is NOT enhanced, but reduced, when he drinks. Any alcohol expert will tell you the same, and the physiological reasons why. It's a no-brainer, starting with eyesight, fine motor skills, judgement, etc, etc.
Anyway, why are you complaining, T? Assuming it's a public room or bar, you can either choose to play this guy, with your "hydraulic handicap", or you can decline. But no reason to get angry! If everybody in the joint feels as you do, and nobody plays him, he'll stop coming in for last call. Or, if folks still want to play him, let the chips fall where they may.
I'm sober 20 years, and my pool improved greatly as a result. But I still recall the days, though, when I didn't trust anyone that didn't drink. (Kind of like Bob Dylan, who famously used to say you shouldn't trust anyone over 30 years old... and that was 40 years ago.)
Good shooting -
