My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends...

This also sucks. What a great ambassador. Lots of great conversations with this man.

RIP Dan Janes.
A great talent and ambassador of the game.
Collaborated with him on a cue he made for me a few years ago.
Can't imagine a more congenial man to work with.
Spent some time with him in his shop at that time.
Condolences to Steve and Debbie.

Howdy All;

I too had a few conversations with Mr. Danny Janes. Didn't try to BS me with the
"usual things" some of us are known for. Ask an honest question and he provided
you with an answer. I appreciated that. I appreciated that he took time from his day
to deal with me, asking the same questions that perhaps 1000 others had asked
and he'd answered before. Yet, he made me feel that I was the first one to ask it.
Helluva man, helluva cue maker. I'll miss him that's for sure.
Heartfelt Condolences to his family.

R.I.P. Dan

Sad day to hear this. He was a great gentleman to talk with. I went to his shop with Philly when he picked up his cue. Heard some marvelous road stories about traveling with Bill Stroud and also Ed Kelly. Too bad he didn't write these down to share with everyone. RIP to a real pioneer in the modern cue making industry.

Oh, man, this is awful news. Dan was a great supporter of pool, and of course, he made some great cues. May he rest in peace!

Wow.. I don’t live far from where they make cues and I remember going there to buy a joss. It Was a simple cue he had in the case but it was my first step Up from playing with what I consider production cues. Joss was held in very high regard back then. I feel in past years It fell out of favor and I rarely see anyone play with it. another loss for the industry.. rip

I am very sad to read this news. A wonderful gentlemen in every way. Sorry for his many friends and his family.

A sad day indeed! I appreciate all our conversations and correspondences about cues he made and for putting up with all my questions!
He was very kind and first class, a true gentleman. He will be missed! Condolences to Steve, Deb and family....
