Branko, there was a cue like this on here before...it may have even been the same one. Not sure it was ever id'ed. I'll try to locate the thread. Imo, this cue has the look of a super early Meucci or Huebler...or possibly even an early Dick Helmstetter or someone else that might have worked with him or was heavily influenced by him. Neat cue...looks to be late 60s imo.

This is that same cue Sean. I emailed pictures to Darren at Meucci hopefully some questions will be answered soon. If not I have about a half dozen emails to other cue makers and experts that maybe can shed some light about this cue or maybe just point me in a different direction. If it helps to identify the cue, next monday i'm having it x-rayed.

My best guess would be a National or a Helmsetter. Nothing other than some of the rings look Huebler.

Yes it is a 5/16-18 pin in a solid ivory joint. All white is ivory (I believe)

I recently looked at one of the Julio Strambolini (spelling) series cues and it had this same ringwork. Not saying thats what this one is, just saying...

Very interesting, wasn't Julio Strambolini actually made by Helmstetter?

Maybe if the cue maker becomes known on this cue then we can find out who Calli is. The closer I look at this cue the more interesting it gets.

good luck with that. but who was/ is julio strambolni or did helmstetter make this name up?

xrays of mystery cue

The first one is where the buttsleeve meets the wrap
The second is the buttcap
The third is where the forearm is attached to the handle
The fourth is the joint to the forearm

Geezus. Are those dental x-rays?

I hope they help somebody. I am still unsure on this one.

Hey Buddy,
if yo going to x -ray the cue again do the wrap ,,some cue makers write the name under the wrap and the led in the pensil will show up,,

Just a shot in the dark here, but perhaps the slightest bit Hank Corsair to it...
I'd say Helmstetter as well, but have never seen a close match to this particular example.
