Another USPS nightmare...

Bamacues

...Well, I am in the middle of a fit. I shipped out cues to 2 different customers USPS Priority Mail on 15 June with scheduled delivery dates of 17 June. As of today, 25 June, no cues have been delivered. I went to the Post Office with my tracking info, and talked with customer service. They looked them up in the computer and said, yep, they were shipped, but they would not trace them until 2 July, as they have 14 business days to deliver a Priority Mail package. They said 2-3 days was only an estimate.

Apparently, they put the packages on pallets destined for certain places, and these either got on the wrong pallet, or were placed on a Parcel Post pallet. They won't share that info until after the 14 business days period has passed. Oh well, meanwhile, all 3 of us are freaking out....

Now i find out...

...right after I just dropped off a cue destined for England. Now you got me sweatin'. Good luck Joe.

I gave up on tracking USPS I've never seen this working .
Best I ever got was your item was recieved on .........
In the same breath there overnight works very well I never had any issues with it.
I have to admit the thoughts of your cues sitting in the back of a truck in Arizona while the driver sleeps all day (Most drivers run at night) is horrable indeed!!!
Best of luck to you
Bill

My recommendation: always ship by USPS Express Mail. If it does not get where it is supposed to go on time, you get a refund and the Post Office can track it down. The USPS cannot track Priority Mail.

USPS strikes again

I had a similar experience when I sent some stock certificates recently. I sent them registered, insured and return receipt requested. The tracking showed that they arrived at the destination, but were "redirected" because there was a problem with the address or zip code. After 5 days the on-line tracking still did not show any more information on the delivery status. I called the Post Office and they told me that a "search" could not be started for 7 more days. While I was waiting, I received notification from the brokerage house on the disposition of the certificates. They got them, but evidently the Post Office didn't know it !?!?!?!?!? Later I received an e-mail notice from the Post Office that my shipment had NOT been delivered. I thought about filing for the insurance (just for fun), but decided that I'd had enough with the USPS. Next time I'm using a different carrier.

I shipped a shaft to western canada from eastern US. I used priority mail USPS, dude at the shipping place charged me 30 damn dollars to ship a 4 ounce shaft! Then to beat all...it took 3 weeks to get to him! What a crock!

Usps :(

i hate the USPS. not only is their tracking system a joke, but all the local USPS stations around here have the "i work for the government" syndrome. nobody gives a d*mn about the problems they have caused you. makes me mad just thinking about it. UPS isn't much better but still preferred over USPS...just a rant. hope everything works out for ya,
Jay

USPS is loaded with theives.I had $5000 cash stolen from me,and I know of an offshore casino(i used to do some work for one)that does cash mailings on a regular basis, and was robbed for over $100,000.my friend was robbed for $60,000.The safest and unfortunately most expensive way to ship anything id Fedex overnight.I have on multiple occasions tried to track down my package which was shipped to me USPS Priority and the always give me the run around. The workers all stick together and cover for the pthers.Everything inside the store is videotaped,so they can pinpoint the crime to the driver, yet he says he didn't do it?The whole company is a joke, and basically can't get into trouble b/c they are the government. Now that they have gone up to $25 for overnight pool cues, all of us should start using Fedex.I know some here will say,"you are a fool for mailing cash" maybe so but i had to do it at the time, and we tried using USPS instead of Fedex b/c they were 3-4 times cheaper. That was our only mistake. We never once had a problem with Fedex.Sorry this is so long winded, but it is true the USPS can not be trusted they are liars and theives.I know for a fact.I am not a Fedex rep,but they are the most dependable and trustworthy of them all.Good luck with the cues Joe.

Thanks folks..

I just needed to vent a little...sort of a hopeless feeling where you have absolutely no control over the matter. I just wanted to share my experience because misery loves company, and based on the responses and the USPS experiences, there are a lot of miserable people here on the forum....  :D

shipping

I've used nothing but fed-x tube, standard overnight delivery, and priority overnight delivery. I have never had a package even remotely late, and certainly never lost....(yes I just knocked on wood)... I will say that I've received a number of shipment when buying, shipped by priority USPS overnight, and they too have arrived on schedule. The best to you,
and hoping for quick resolve & peace of mind.

Now that they are $25 for overnight cues,we should all go to Fedex for all shipping. We should boycott the USPS.All of us who have had problems that is.

I am going to do something different. Although this is the first time I have had an issue (except for one Express Mail problem), I really don't like the "You have to wait until 14 business days pass before we can trace it" thing really irks me. Seems like the sooner you traced it, the easier it would be to locate.

I will have to drive about 30 minues instead of 5,but I made a pact to never use them again and broke.I need to start the banishment back up."4 days before we start looking for it" that is pitiful.

I had a cue I shipped to Texas take 12 days and they said the same thing when I called on day #5... "can't track till 14 days has passed" I shipped a cue to Delaware that arrived slightly damaged and now he's going thru the claim process. I think they are going to take the cue and give him the full price of the cue instead of paying to have it refinished. We'll see though. Has anyone used DHL? I've heard they are really efficient and fair priced.

DHL is fairly priced and seemingly honest, but not as effecient as the others, unless you have an account with them.

usps

i have a funny story that happened in my pool room. send 2 falcons for refinishing. weeks later cues were refinished and sent back. never got them. within a month or so usps paid insurance claim. after all was forgotten about a year later out of the blue usps dropped off a package that i know i didnt order. signed for it and opened it. my two falcons refinished and in perfect condition. :D :D :D

ps these 2 falcons were original customs from the 80's or 90's before falcon became production like today. they were unreplaceable

Oh Boy....

Ok, I know there are a lot of angry mobsters lining up their sights at usps, and judging from your problems I don't blame you. What I do know is that if you want to send anything and have it tracked, use either registered mail or signature conformation. Registered mail is the most secure mail delivery usps has. The item is under lock and key for most of it's journey. As for sign. conformation, you know the very day and time the package reaches each point on it's journey, including it's final destination. If you value the contents of your package, ALWAYS insure the item. It's the only way to guarantee you get your money in case of damage.
OK TROOPS- FIRE AWAY!!!!
