Here is a Antique tip and tenon machine and rest that a cue customer asked me to put out here.

He would like to sell it to someone who collects antique cue stuff.

It is very old. It is all there and it works too fine.

Its called the Taylor Cue Repair Machine, and they still make them afaik. I dont know how desirable an old one would be unless someone wanted it as a decoration. It cuts ferrule tenons and shaves the ferrule down to match the shaft wood.

Theyre slick when they work good, (Ive seen one good one in 35 years around the game :thumbup. But they make a mess when they get dull or worn.

Was thinking more about these tonight. Muellers still lists them in their catalog, but everything Ive found points to the parent company being out of business.

That would probably mean the new ones are now being made in Asia. I added a motor to one of those back in the 80's and later sold it to a local pool room.

Maybe the hack who messed up cesar morales' shaft used that mangler.

I don't think you would call it a mangler if you had you ever used on that was set up right. They can cut a ferrule pretty nice. It was the tenon that they would get off center sometimes. But if set up properly they would trim a ferrule down to the shaft really clean. You can do a tip with it the same way. Just keep a thin sheet of something to go around the shaft inside the collet and they will do a good job without scarring the shaft. With a little modification they could cut a centered tenon also.

It is no where near as nice as having a good lathe, but it should not be called a mangler.

That is the machine we used when I worked in the pool hall as a teen. I learned that machine and could use it very well. You just had to pay attention and take your time.
