I saw this guy at the poolhall last night with big 8-ball with flames on his calf. He was a total banger and I was thinking that unless pool was a big part of your life and really meant something to you, why would you do that? I really wanted to say, "Nice tat, wanna gamble?"
Then again I have tat that means absolutely nothing to me. However, it's in an inconspicuous place and I was 16 when I got it.

When you turn pro and get a nickname, then get a tatoo that revolves around pool, until then, bag the idea.
Well its not a 9ball tat but you get the idea. It would be easy to hide

Just replace the basketball with a nineball
i have 3 tats, all on my upper body and are not visible when clothed, however Neil you and i can both see them when im at the beach, playing basketball or anything else that requires my shirt to be off (yes playing basketball requires being shirtless sometimes), you could even see 2 of them if i just wore a sleeveless shirt. I would love to get a pool one if i ever saw the right design.

i'm a life long player, I have taken time away from the game, but I know that as long as i'm alive i'll be playing, sweating pool. i might disappear like I did in the 90's and pop up again,,,who knows-but what i'm sure of pool will be part of my life.
I love Tattoos, since I first can remember them on dad, I was perhaps 4, my dads were on his arms only, no where else, he was a navy WW2 guy and then when the war ended a merchant marine, his tattos, were words and dates of places he had been on his upper arms, on his loweer arms he had the classic shit , skull and cross bones, the number "13" some girls name he covered over and would never tell my mom or me what it said-he took that to the grave, all were that old school blurry blue ink. they were great, He got a job at a high security govt job for the DOE-Dept of Energy, after working there for 2 years in security he was given the highest level security clearence a Q-clearance they called it, he escourted the roket scientisrs around and saw lots of classified stuff-he would never tell me anything about it, I learned from my dad not to put biz in the street and when smeone tells you something it ends there-I know alot about alot in pool I would never ever say a word about it to anyone, just like dad,
Ok back to tattoos. Not getting one for a job might hurt you if you work in a retail front line position or if you live in some parts of the country, in CA and Vegas if you dont have a tattoo they ask why not? well almosy unless you are Jewish, however I know a jewish player with one-so there.
Ok so I am a lifer in pool, and ink, so whats the problem??? I think pool related tattoos are just lame, for the most part I have seen a few that I liked but there is something less acceptable about a pool tatoo than a tribal tat (Tribal tats are mainstream and pool because of the games public opinion about it make that image are more hardcore on pool realted tats, perhaps like a biker club tat -Hells Angles), or most other ones a Tazmanian Deval is the worst IMO, it is just a off the wall photo copy thats drawn on your skin forever-while your were too drunk to remember getting it.. Pool remings of that to me-they are tacky some of the time, pool is a 3-D game and dosent tranlate good to skin either, if anyone has one, i'm not knocking your choice and I might like it too, but for me they dont work, but I;ll be damned if a future job I might not ever have is gonna stop me from what I want, I have 2 and I was 27 and 38 before I knew what I wanted, so when Im 49 i'll get one more, it wont be an Ace of Spades on my arm either-tacky, i recommend skin art to everyone who is open to it i dont shove it on to anyone, it took me about 10 years to get one and 11 more for the second, ya better be real sure, also mst people with pool realted tats dont play too good, sure there are exceptions, but from my years its the oppsite,

I see what you mean here but that was not how i meant it. I want it at the top of my shoulder. That is visible to me and visible in a vest top, but easily covered up by either a long or short sleeved shirt for work. I get your point about having a tat you dont know is there and nobody can see.
