I moved from Vegas to Pennsylvania in october. I hired a shipping company to move my stuff. It was a mom and pop shipper i hired thru USHIP.com an internet bid company that provides shipping. The shipment was supposed to be all delivered at one time. They didnt tell me til after they got to the delivery site that their truck wasnt big enough to take everything. They would have to do 2 shipments. They deliver the first part of my shipment in December and tell me once the weather breaks in March they would bring my trailer. In my trailer is my pool cue collection. Come march 1 I email and try to get the shipment in motion. I also let them know the value of the cues I have and tell them the importance of having them delivered due to the heat issues and cues. They say they are working on a schedule to have my shipment delivered. April comes, I email and same reply. May comes same thing. June comes and I call them. They tell me they crashed their only truck and have no idea as to when they will be able to ship my items. They tell me they suggest I get some one else. I was shocked and asked if you have one truck and crash it, why wouldnt you tell your customers. I asked when it happened and they said march. I asked why this could go til june and them never mention this knowing the urgency of the items I had in the trailer. His reply was I couldn't see the future to know when we would be able to ship the items.
I hired another shipper who had the items here in 5 days. They arrive and my cues are ruined. All the Glue lines around all rings joints and shafts are raised and lifted. I have some high dollar cues. Black Boar rs3 , Lambros 6 Pointer, Gracio TITLIST, Manzino TITLIST( ivory joint split down the middle) and many fancy sneakies including a 1992 Mottey and a Lambros.
Is there any legal route I could take against these people.
Any info would be appreciated.
I will add I know I should have asked for insurance policy from them, I know I took a cheaper route. They had a good feedback on the website just like ebay system. The other option was to hire a moving company that would have charged me 10k to move the stuff. I unfortunatley didnt have that kind of money. We moved home on short notice to care for an ill family member.
to update my post and inform you all why i didnt take the cues with me. I drove my 350z convertible on the trip. I had enough room for my dad and my duffle bags and thats it...
why didnt i ship them, if you belong to azb im sure you have heard of the shipping nightmares.
I also figured the shipment would take 2 weeks at the max and i would have my cues.
