are you jonny barket?I heard Assistant TD Janet O. tell Jose Parica to be back before 1PM Sunday. With a chuckle he jokingly replied "ok.. 12:59." I didn't stay to the very end so I can't guarantee that didn't change.
They are open 24 hours tonight so you can give them a call to confirm times. There was talk of some local news being there at 9am - probably News 31 since I think they are the only live weekend news.
There was 91 players at the beginning and great matches to watch everywhere!
At one point on tables 5 and 6 it was Rafael Martinez(W) vs Ernesto Dominguez, Jose Parica(W) vs Ed Ames, and further up the line was Jeffery Gregory, Oscar Dominguez, George Michaels, Austin Murphy, Marshal Williams, ... - the people in the bleachers were getting sore necks trying to catch it all.
$2000 for first and the total prize fund of $7500, if I remember right. Hard Times added $2500, Tony H. from Hustlin' kicked in $500 and Ed Ames added a Break cue for the winner.
Things seemed to be running pretty smoothly yesterday with Kenny Shuman, Tom in Cincy and Janet O. doing the dirty work on the board and on the microphone. With the strong field they wisely made this a race to 7 on BOTH the winner and the one-loss side and there was talk of making today's matches a race to 9.

Rafael (1st) over Santos (2nd) - Rafael was shooting out of his mind.
Santos over Parica (3rd). Parica scratched in the side on double hill leaving a 3 ball run for Santos to wrap it up.
Santos got there through Jeff Gregory (4th), Jeff got down early but found his stroke and put up a late charge with Santos already on the Hill but he came up a little short.
Jeff had EVERYTHING working to better Ernesto Dominguez (5th/6th) prior to that.
Santos beat Greg (5th/6th) (Last name unknown, not Greg Harada or Greg F., but the other one that was there.) The mystery Greg beat George Michaels to get to the match with Santos)
Tom In Cincy will probably come on for a more official wrap up - this is just from memory. There was a pretty good crowd of around 50 watching the final few matches.
Little Al Romero was very impressive to watch. Someone near me mentioned he probably forgot more pool that some of us ever knew, to which I replied, It doesn't look like he forgot any of it! Chuck would have been pleased with the event and the turnout.

The Mini Tournament running at the same time (Regular Sunday $15 Entry) had Frank Nordman winning the first finals set over Oscar Dominguez to force a second race to 4 where Oscar found his grove and closed it out. The A-Train, Robert Aldana finished third.
