Really bad on the updates for this tournament. Johnnyt

i would be curious as to the actual attendance of this event - it is in the middle of North Carolina - as far as updates on AZ, i believe Mike H. wasn't even on site until today.

Nostroke...Did Hazel Cook play at the BCAPL tournament in Vegas this year? I met her last year, and wanted to spend some time with her. Anyone have any contact info for her?

I thought the idea was to have this tournament during the BCA Show. The show doesnt start until the 12th, the last day of the tournament! Seems to me that the reasons stated for having this event switched from Las V to Charlotte may be BS.

Nostroke,
First of all, many thanks for the updates (even though most of us want to choke you for getting to go to all of the exotic locations for the tournament while we struggle along here at work).

I was really struck by the timing as well. I think it is safe to say that the honeymoon between the BCA and the BCAPL is over.

Hope to see you in Michigan City - lunch is on me (maybe we can find a place nicer than the Burger Barge).

I think the Burger Barge would be 5 Star rated if it were in Mich City. Man what a blighted town that is. Anyway ive been telling myself im not going. Ive been battling divertiiculosis. Every morniing is 3 hours of misery plus I got a few other things going wrong as well so we shall see. Probably last minute Ill be there. Thanks for all your thanks and that pro friend of yours seemed to be in agony yesterday. Braver than me-that's for sure. Hope there is improvement real soon.

Any updates who will be in the final 8? I don't know who to root for between Anna and Jeanettte. Anna is a rising strar on the tour and I feel she will be in the top 5 at the end of the season. JL has been at the top but hasn't finished well in a few years. With all her health problems and pain I have to give her credit for still competing. Johnnyt

Nostroke,
Hey, good luck with the medical issues. It sounds like Michigan City is a real garden spot. I have a cousin there, maybe I should ask him about food and pool places. Surely there is somewhere decent to eat or play. Bring your cue just in case - sjm will be along for the ride.

There is NO way players should be competing so soon after surgery like that - it just breaks my heart. Words just can't describe how horrific the pain would be. I've always had respect for athletes that competed with pain; but I know I couldn't/wouldn't do it. Some people are just completely driven and dedicated.

From a friend on-site:

Allison is losing three to one to Anna Kostanian
Corr and Pan are tied at 2-2.
Jasmine beat Thorfeldt after being down 6-0

Immonen and Bryant are 2-3.
Moore and Crosby are 4-1.
Hohmann and Hundal are tied 4-4.

Go ANNA!!!!!!

Here is some more:

Kostanian is three-2 vs Fisher.
Mika and Bryant are arguing. Bryant is up 6-3.
Corr is beating Pan 4-2.
Hohmann is losing 6-4. Missing a lot.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

If it's a fistfight, I want Hillbilly. Didn't they argue before at some other tournament last year?????

These updates are beautiful! Thank you!

Brackets are updated up to the quarters. Nice result for Iris, going down 9-8 to Jasmin. Good job to Melissa too. She just missed out on the quarters, and this was after losing her first match. It was tough that she and Vivian (two of my favorites) had to play one another.
