Any Updates on the Indy Tourney?

Great buy

I had Frankie B In both Calcuttas for $40.00 how do you like that!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking about that earlier today. There always seems to be an out of towner sneaking in, or an underdog like Frankie who gets all the way out toward the end, and sold for squat compared to all the champs. Great buy!!!!!!! Congrats on the score.

Someone said you had worn a dress hoping to get that spot.....

Remember I have my spot for the rest of my life...2 games going to 5....

Ken

I wore the dress, but it wasnt to get the spot

And bring your cues and some cash, you got that spot

I was a little surprised to see Shannon Murphy go out as quickly as he did, I feel a little for whoever purchased him for $700 in the calcutta. The calcutta was enormous, I think over $6,000. Go Hoosiers! A lot of great players attended and good matches were everywhere to be seen.

The loser breaks format is a huge equalizer. players like Shannon can not put racks together and it makes it more fair to the weaker player. Shannon bought himself in the calcutta.

what up stakehorse this is B. are you going to the state championships?

Janette was in action twice for 15, I like janettes game, she plays good and you never here her say anything. Although their was a player who played a set for six dimes and only got like 300 or 350 for playing. Thats sick.

If he can't buy some more then that's what he gets! Ouch tho!!

One of my secrets is to buy someone at the right price. I NEVER buy in blind or pay a hell of alot out.

IF you do buy someone for a alot of money, they usually HAVE to WIN to make a dollar, but if you get someone cheap that can at least place, then there is a tremendious upside with very limited downside.

I dont try to buy the winner, I try to buy the guy that is going to place or show for nothing. It works for me.

Just how I look at it.

This is the only way IMO to run a tournament.

Everyone acts like it is so strange. Can you imagine a football game where you give the ball back to the team that just scored a touchdown?

I LOVE this format, always keeps the matches close IMO.

Great format, The tourn. was awsome. I can't wait for the next one. We just need to keep the action among certain people and only let certain people bet.

Brian -

2 questions.

Who decided on the format? I was really impressed with Mr. Ashby and how he ran it. I made the comment he would be good to help at DCC, and I truely believe it on how he did this one. Once again love the format.

Secondly, there is a tournament over here in Cincy in May, the way to build these up is for a few folks to travel. As you are a kinda a celebrity with your DCC performances are you going to be able to come over? I have already invited the Terre Haute folks...

Yes I would love to go. Just send me some info either on here or on my pm. All of us wanted the Format because Fort Wayne was really good tourn. and we wanted to have the same.

I am with you on this one!

Like I said, they must have a different defiintion of a C player in Indy. Here in St. Louis, a C player is someone that might break and run out once a day, if at all. Usually someone that can run 5 -6 balls max. Doesn't really matter to me. Terri definitely was a nice female player who definitely had skills. Nesli also cashed this weekend, I believe. And was gambling even with Dennis Schroeder (is he a C player as well?)

C players should not be running racks, especially on a consistent basis. Even a B player should not be running more than a rack or two during the course of three or four hours of play. The tell-tale difference in players ranking should be shot selection. Someone ranked as a C or B player rarely if ever plays safe. These players also tend to be shotmakers and not "runout" artists. A player at the C and B level typically tries to "force" shape rather than play natural shape which may leave a lesser player with a shot that is difficult for their skill level.
