Looks like he has sold some to folks near you. Why don't you go see it, installed?

Worsted Cloth
A friend of mine has a table covered in worsted cloth and it plays nice. The pool shop that sold it to him said that it was the closest thing to Simonis as you could get. It shows marks, if you like to jump a lot you will know it. It rolls faster than Championship and does not have a rubber backing like that either. Overall it is good. I like it. 'Worsted' is a fabric type, not a brand, FWIW.

Yes sir I understand that but I don't know what type of worsted it is. It plays good though.

they are probably a lot of worsted cloths available and they will surely be of varying quality.

FWIW, worsted wool is typically used for billiard cloth unless a synthetic fabric is used which is rare.
Honestly, I don't know anything about the product mentioned in the original post but in my humble opinion, if you're serious enough about pool to be a member of azb, you should spend the extra money on one of the best brands (Simonis topping the list). Home tables typically don't need reclothing very often. I'd say the average table owner can expect 5 years of play.

In my opinion it's the same as with tables with no name plates. That should usually tip you off to the quality of the product if they don't have enough pride in it to put a name on it. Would you buy this? :

I don't think so. If you want a Ferrari, get one. If you want something that plays exactly like Simonis, I know where you can find it, and they even put their name on it.

It says its 10 percent Nylon which is enough to keep me away!! I played at a tournament that had one table there with nylon in the cloth and it was HORRIBLE!!! It had a metallic feeling to it and the balls slid off path more than normal. IDK this particular brand but I would pay extra to get Simonis. At least then I would KNOW how it will play and not have to shovel out more cash to replace the cloth you don't know.

I noted in the ebay listing to put the printing side up ask the seller what it says on that printing it might give you a clue on the manufacturer. Buying cloth is a big expense so saving a few bucks is understandable but throwing your money away is even worse.
Take a look at his feedback find a person who purchased the cloth a while back see if they like it after it was installed I would ask more then one person.

Simonis 860 is 24 oz, made of 90% wool / 10% nylon and available in 22 colors shown below.
ANY billiard cloth is going to be some blend of wool and nylon. The ratio will vary depending on the manufacturer and series of cloth, but it all has nylon. Felt, however...none. :grin:
