I like it. I think some veneers would really make it something special. Reverse titelist perhaps?

handle ok, nose, not sure .. hard to say without looking at the entire butt design.

Yeah maybe a handle with floating points in the forearm and the butt, that would be something. :)

Love box cues

If I were ordering a cue like this, I would have asked for the boxes to be book matched (I think that is the term) so the pattern of tiger figure matched from window to window. I would want the flow of the tiger rings to draw the eye to that part of the design. Also, the purple heart at the top and bottom would need to match perfectly the slots of PH between the windows. Otherwise, it looks like a laminated dowell rather than an inlayed forearm. With the design you have now, my thought would be to add long barbells between the rectangles (Szamboti style) and have the dots at either end overlay the glue line between the two end pieces of purple heart, thus minimizing the contrast between PH grain and color.

Long big windows do work for me and I like the color choice of pairing PH with figured maple. I do look forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks Guys....Yes the Maple is bookmatched so all the curls line up threw the piece. The barbells are a cool idea as well. I'll probably do a few in ebony so theres no glue lines to be seen.....anyway keep the comments up guys Thanks Dave

here's a segmented handle , bookmatched the curly too
this one was the first i tried
my opinion is the cocobolo is wayyyyyyyy too wide,
seemed like a good idea at the time ,
you know how that stuff goes,
but a guy i shoot league with likes it, gave me a deposit on it friday
i got another one in the works with thinner coco

Brent, I think your right the coco is to thick it takes away from the windows......I was mainly talking about a forearm and the windows would be the points.....Great minds think alike...hahahahaha..........Dave

ahhhhhhhh
i thought that was a handle
yep, coco is too big , would have been good for a baseball bat
on that day, my great mind must have been on vacation somewhere :)

Well I think it looks pretty good myself.. Like my dad use to tell me "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

maybe me & you can run to toledo to pester dave??????

almost like that

when i started experimenting with different splices i made a forearm with splices like that, it was bocote into maple with a solid maple handle and bocote into maple for the butt cap. i used 1/4 by 1/4 inch strips, and inlayed them almost 1/4 inch deep. this gave the cue a very stiff hit. chuck
