Anyone bring their own chairs to the pool hall?

I know I'm going to get a lot of heat for this but here goes. I guess I'm influenced by the league players bringing their camping chairs and there are quite a few of nice ones. I've had a few during my college days camping and they were lightweight and portable. I no longer camp as much as I would like so I gave away me camping gear.

I've narrowed it down to a director's chair style that sits up high. It's easy to get in and out of. I don't mind a more comfortable regular height chair to stretch out my legs. The directors chair you can't really lean back and stretch your legs out like anormal chair.

So my question is, if you do bring your own chair, any recommendations? Here's a generic director's chair but on the heavy side. The grey is a YETI Base Camp.

Wait, there are league players who bring their own chair with them? Why? Are they playing in a bar short on seating? I’ve never heard of or seen this before and seem really weird.

But I guess if I was playing somewhere without chairs or stools I’d want a place to sit too, just never seen such a place for playing pool, even most bars have stools you can grab.

They bring their own chairs because our pool hall has those regular stools. I guess if they are playing all night its easier to sit in one of those camping chairs than on a stool. I thought this was common practice.

I’m not totally against privately owned chairs….but I ain’t sitting in on any that belongs to a guy that I’ve three- fouled…it might be plugged in.

I'd go for the director's chair, and if I had any tool skills would make a cue holder to fit one of the arms.

I used to slot race and took my own stool to use when racing....old legs and back was the reason.

Bringing you own chair is actually an excellent idea. I remember going to the Sands tournaments and always bringing a folding camping chair to put on those uncomfortable bleachers they had set up there. Most pool halls have those bar stools with no back or arm rests they absolutely destroy your back after sitting on them for a while. I remember old Frank Tanner (an old Canadian snooker player well into his 90's) always binging his own comfortable chair into The Great Entertainer in SF. Those of us with bad backs are certainly for this idea.

Yes. I see them in league play when the have those early tournaments that start at 8am and you see them bring their own chair. I'm getting old so sitting on a barstool for 3 hours isn't exactly fun. The old pool hall I played at had these on two tables. I played on those tables the most. Seriously someone has to chime in because the place I go to can't be the only people that do this.

When I was playing the mezz tour, I would bring in my folding chair from my car. Especially when I was playing on a fractured heel. We'd sometimes have to wait hours for matches, especially from the winner's side and my protable folding chair was WAY more comfortable than most stools or chairs in pool halls.
